This is a collection of South Korean and US documents dated from 1948-1950 that specifically state the intention and planning of military operations into North Korea, alongside reports of actual combat

The editor’s note seems a little biased but i’ll give it a go

The fact that you unironically insinuated that I was a victim of a propaganda machine is astounding. North Korea is the way it is because it’s a tyrannical dictatorship. Japan and Germany were able to recover from WW2 and thrive. Everywhere communism is tried, it produces the same result

You literally just said you don’t read books about Korea and go by what is “common knowledge” in america

Do you really think you’re not propagandized by the US?

I’m sure I have some false beliefs based on faulty knowledge, but I know I’m not fundamentally wrong in my outlook. You only the other hand seem to be extremely propagandized.

Btw, your point is wrong for the simple reason that countries don’t get a whole lot better than modern SK.

You literally base your worldview on “common knowledge”, how could you possibly accuse me of being propagandized because it doesn’t agree with your worldview, despite ample evidence that I actually do my reading?

South Korea has the highest suicide rate in the developed world, a highly corporate society based on a rigidly hierarchical work culture that expects 10+ workdays. The newly elected leader is calling for a curtail on feminist rights in a country with the highest gender-based wage gap in the developed world

To call it the best place to live in the world is a joke. You sound like a weeb

South Korea also has one of the highest standards of living in the world. Saying I’m a weeb for speaking highly of South Korea is racist, btw.

Shall we compare Taiwan to the PRC next?

I read a lot of history on Wikipedia in my free time. I know how it sounds but it’s actually a good source. Sometimes it’s obviously iffy but in those cases I dig deeper. Also took mad college courses

Free is subjective. Standard of living is not and can readily be measured

I don't consider myself knowledge, but knowing that DPRK initiated the war is basic s***, like knowing Hitler's invasion of Poland started WW2.

Yes, the North invaded the South, coinciding with North Korean backed insurgencies in the South. US came in to take care of business

Korea had a unified government until the US stopped recognizing in the southern region they occupied
