He’s had a very successful career I feel like he’s met his expectations. Not everyone can be Drake, Kenny and Cole just the way it works

  • Jul 16, 2023

He ran his time and peaced out on his own accord, nothing wrong with that.

I think the whole premise of this thread is wrong. Sean should not have even lasted as long as he did. He overachieved 100%. Dark Sky Paradise is still a really good record. He was really just a mixtape/radio freestyle artist who ended up making a few albums that a lot of rappers, with more talent than him in overall song making, could never pull off.

  • wish he didnt change up his delivery to how it is now. It used to be much more expressive but its monotone

    What happened

I would say he has lived up to his potential honestly

not sure what more you wanted him to achieve other than making Kanye type classic albums

he has a solid couple of albums, plenty of hits, has been relatively controversy free, not had problems with addiction, not gone to jail, has become a father, gives back to his community in Detroit, and I would think he still makes a lot of money. he’s relevant to the game after a 12 year career. Big Sean is in a very good position compared to most people that signed to G.O.O.D music. I’m pretty sure he is the only Artist that has dropped enough albums to have completed their deal with G.O.O.D.
Majority of rappers that come in the game signed by another rapper do not make it to the space where Big Sean is.

Sean was gud fam. I mean I don't listen to him that much, but he was really relevant for his time and honestly from what I heard, he's actually gotten better with albums

  • Jul 16, 2023

I just can’t get past his voice. He pushing 40 and still sounds like that

  • If anything, he exceeded expectations. He's had a solid career

  • Jul 16, 2023

  • Jul 16, 2023

He was okay for the lane he was in but I am not surprised he fell off.

He like top 25-30 Most commercially successful rappers of all time.

Maybe he didn’t get to have A Drake, Ye, Travis like career but considering how many people have tried to reach that level he did pretty good.

Yea i'm actually curious OP. What more did you envision for Sean?

  • Jul 16, 2023

Feel like he squandered the momentum off I Decided, he really could have entered the cultural pantheon with Cole Kenny and Drake.

Both due to his limited output since then, and due to his content (him not chasing hits as much as his earlier work). But I respect him making the music he wants.

Not to mention all his albums did good numbers, idk why people think he flopped because he stopped dropping on his own accord
