YAHM!!!!
Here, I’m giving you a pity reply
i fell off
He definitely outlasted most rappers of the Blog era. His problem is that he has no identity in the rap game, he doesn't have an interesting story, a specific sound or a unique aesthetic. That being said he does have a decent catalog of music.
he became one of the top rappers in the game for like 5-8 years literally just off freestyling for kanye through pure coincidence during the Late Registration era i honestly don’t know many other rappers with a story that wild
sean came in, did his thing, took some Ls, showed genuine improvement and has been a part of some of the biggest hits, flows, and moments in rap of the past 15 years. he’s never gotten his flowers really but he has a place in this fr
i miss the ktt1 poster who always posted WOAH DERE in big sean threads
we can never forget BigWorldJust

man this song is s***
I’ve grown to realize I was never a big fan. He had songs that I enjoyed over the years but I only gave him a chance bc of the GOOD connect
Heard him on a Mike Posner tape in 09, tried to peep his music and wasn’t impressed at all. Lemonade/FF3 really made me tune back in. Respected his wordplay but I can’t think of many other redeeming qualities about his music
I can hear the Kanye and Wayne influence in his old music now more than ever. Used to be my favorite Big Sean era but Wayne and Ye in my top 5 so I’m biased lol he was able to transcend that punchline/swag rapper phase of his career but I still wasn’t sold. He was never the most interesting rapper
He put out more “serious” music over the years and a lot of times it felt contrived. Feel like he sounds more at home when he’s having fun or just doing punchlines. Maybe that’s why I enjoyed the FF3 era even though he’s improved since then
With that said, I’d say he’s had a successful career. Solid fan base and he was able to adapt to different eras better than some of his contemporaries. Got some pretty recognizable singles spread throughout his discog. He exceeded expectations imo

The Kanye freestyle story is cool but there isn't much more to the "Big Sean story". I also feel like Sean never got the Ye produced special album like a Be, Daytona, or KSG. Ye could have done a lot more with Sean instead of trying to compete with Drake.

This.
Sorry for the unnecessary bump, but hopefully Sean stops holding back.
Sean was never a priority to Kanye and it’s always showed.
I get nostalgia thinking about Big Sean tbh. Marvin & Chardonnay and Guap were some of the songs of his I remember from my middle school days.
Dark Sky Paradise remains his best album imo. Lot of heat on there🔥🔥🔥. I Decided was aight tho. Interesting approach but wasn't executed well at all.
To think he used to be seen as apart of the Big 4 with Drake, K.Dot, and J.Cole. Interesting times indeed
I don’t think Sean is corny really he really stays in his lane and seems like a solid dude
Hes had an amazing career even if he wasnt a top guy

I don’t think there was ever really a big 4, i looked at him, meek, and wale as the medium 3 at a point compared to the big 3
And future and nicki were always just in their own lane
