Maybe because he didn't want to? That's not him. Nas is one of the most complete rappers of all time. I never got this whole club bangers s*** anyways. Rap is from the streets, f*** the clubs.

The club scene is apart of the streets. You dont know what the streets refer to.

Anyways you basically just admitted you gonna ignore some factors for your own bias. Nas wasnt the perfect rapper. Nas even said biggie showed you needed hit records.

Niggas forget Nas was huge in the black community and never crossed over to white audiences until white people started d***riding Illmatic, the first Nas song I heard was either You Owe Me or Oochie Wally, Nas stans hate those songs but I like them lol.

Nas sold 470k fw with I am idiot he was already mainstream before illmatic became a big ass album f*** you talking about

All Ima post is anecdotal evidence because I don't care about the f***ing charts. Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer were the biggest rappers popularity wise in the early 90s and who brings them up nowadays? Macklemore had multiple top 10 hits earlier this decade, who talks about him now? F*** the charts.

And none of them niggas have anything to do with what I'm talking about.

  • Dec 4, 2019

You owe me still gets crowds hyped tbh

But he ain't have the kind of hits like biggie

That's not a bad thing either

Me pointing out flaws in Nas isnt hating. Only on the internet is a criticism equivalent to hating. And even if I was, so what? My point still stands. Biggie had everything. No weaknesses at all. He was elite at everything. Nas was not

  • Dec 4, 2019

Nas started the whole baby on the album cover trend in rap too, which is why Raekwon and Ghost threw subs at Biggie over the Ready to Die album cover.

  • Dec 4, 2019

No one has touched his flow since his demise. EVER!

Big was fat as s***, that's a flaw.

How is it hating to say it's a good song and not a hit?

    • First Nas song to get serious mainstream attention
    • Most streamed Nas song on Spotify
    • Considered by critics as one of the greatest Hip-Hop songs ever
    • Nominated for a Grammy
    • One of his most successful songs on Billboard

Bro, it's literally the only Nas song that even my grandma knows, it's definitely a hit

It didnt get any real mainstream attention like that fam. Did it chart top 40? And for how long was it on the charts my guy? Also a hit dont gotta be mainstream like that. Theres always been street records. Boosie got tons of hits that never charted. Nas isnt keke this cause Nas wasnt a complete street rapper and his time passed after the 00s when it came to being the face of NYC.

Being an alltime great rap song doesnt make it a hit. I said the song was good my guy.

They actually do, my mate. Grammys mostly pick the hottest s*** at the time. That's the reason why artists like Cardi B are successful there.

OP has some obvious issues with Nas being considered a GOAT. It's pointless to argue with someone who's just hating on an artist like that. Nas is one of the greatest to ever do it, how is there any doubt about it, smh.

So for that bread and butter I’ll leave niggas in the gutter!
Word to mother I’m dangerous, crazier then a bag of f***ing angel dust

  • Yea I grew up thinking Nas was the better rapper because he was a better lyricist than Biggie and Nasty Nas rapping just sounded other worldly but when I got older I realized Biggie was the more complete rapper overall..

with that said I still prefer illmatic Nasty Nas over prime Big because he was more prolific and could rhyme better..

No they dont lmao they picked rhapsodys album dude. Wtf are you talking about. Grammys dont always pick popular music nor do they always nominate.

And cardi wins because Atlantic pushes her at award shows that's how the awards work. 9th wonder already said this.

Anyone who speaks ill on big as a rapper shouldn’t speak on hiphop in any form. You are a poser
