    Site is so weird.

This is a Billboard list. It's only based on success on the BB Hot 100 and Top 200.

It's an objective metric based on the aforementioned criteria. No one "should be higher". This level of stannery is mind boggling.

They aren't making statements on "quality" or any other more subjective criteria.

makes sense I saw it say greatest and got hit by the red mist

    at least top 10

Smh exactly. The fact that he isn’t make the list invalid all together.

This is based on numbers or what

I love it isn’t damaging any legacy if anything I’m seeing more people acknowledge his musical brilliance more

I agree he’s not as hot as he was then but before Pablo you probably would have thought the same thing.

If Donda has bangers he’ll bounce back, Ye is infinite people will never stop caring about him

I hope you're right but when I read comments about Ye it feels like most people agree with each other that he's some delusional moron, on top of that hating on Ye makes them feel empowered like they're better people for it. Maybe one day it'll go away but I doubt it.

  • MrIndigo96

FourFiveSeocnds which is a Rihanna song feat Ye and Paul peaked at #4. That was in 2015

remember when that s*** was on the radio 24/7

  • Aug 6, 2020

why does this thread about an arbitrary list have 25 pages

lol same thing happened to MJ but even worse. Might take death, but aint no way Kanye's legacy will be ruined by something like I Love It or anything he says outside of music. He's certified lol

Streaming rules changed everything and made it easier for rap to chart high. I can't believe KTT/stans still compare numbers between eras as if its even close lol

Drake is the poster boy for the difference. 0 number 1 songs making his best music. like 7 #1 songs while he's on the decline.

His talent ain't as certified as MJ's imo lol not even close.

A lot of people (especially white and generally non US people) are pretty oblivious to his musical talent.

MJ's talent was undeniable bc he could sing and dance. Like even the biggest idiot in the world could tell you MJ was talented af. Ye's catalog has a lot of songs that can be perceived as silly overtly sexual songs, plus hip hop just ain't as respected in general I guess.

I guess I mean he makes music for ppl to dance to and socialize. I think ppl underestimate Drake's gift at that.
not easy to do on a consecutive basis

  • Aug 6, 2020

Lots of white privileg and labels controlling radio plays in the past visible in these billboard charts.

So I can't take them serious.

Yeah but back in the day his music was more popping to counter it, critics were on his side too and even Obama couldn't deny his heat. He was basically seen as a questionable figure who makes dope ass music. It was way easier to defend/rationalize his character back then too.
