I was supposed to watch episode 4 of invincible on my lunch break. This thread ate up all the time tbh
Invincible
Everything a major artist does is coordinated by a team, they probably just know that the family’s wrongdoing will be overlooked or explained away somehow or don’t care if the family gets dragged a little.
I just don't see how the family will get drastically less blame than him. Seems like a kamikaze mission.
You can see her mom in the trailer w/ her and this guy in a clip.

I kind of feel like there will be some kind of pseudo-progressive deflection to it that they can hide behind. Like if anyone focuses on that part it will be shot down like “don’t blame women don’t blame parents blame abusive men” or something that makes it black and white like that
Maybe not explicitly during high school sex-ed, but we’re taught about child predators since childhood
What you’re speaking to sounds like you want to specifically call out teenage girls (not all teenagers, but girls) for making a mistake and being taken advantage of

Can’t see what you were replying to but tbf, when we were taught about child predators it was always a fat 40 year old guy with a mustache, definitely not as much about like a 21 year old guy preying on a 16 year old. I don’t believe that girls should be called out but maybe this is an area that should be talked about more (I think it is probably starting to be talked about more)
Imagine you know your 16 year old sister is dating a 21 year old then writing a song with her about a seemingly abusive relationship and rough s***and bringing the song to your parents who also know who she’s dating and they’re like “let’s shoot the video and drop this!” This is so f***ed
Ya’ll are acting so weird. Anyone can find themselves in an abusive relationship and not realize it until it’s too late. Abuse is not always blatant
i don’t think that’s what people are getting at, most people putting blame on the parents and her brother
About to go through thread now to see who needs to be muted/banned
Looks like I’m late (thank you to active mods)
But Regardless y’all know what is discussion and what is banworthy don’t be obtuse when action is taken
In what world is two college students dating grooming
I just kno you get no p**** and do this s*** as a coping mechanism
F***ing bozo

My thought around this is that it is talked about and most people already know this
I don’t think that teens who get into these situations go in oblivious and were never taught of the risks of getting involved with adults. But they go in for various reasons. Teens make risky decisions all the time
Education isn’t the issue imo, and treating it as such borders the line of victim blaming
And of course I’m not opposed to more education around sexual abuse and trauma, but that shouldn’t be the MAIN focus. It should be keeping minors safe
I thought this thread got deleted but anyway if yall watched her documentary didn't her parents just let it happen? They knew about it and ate dinner with him, let them hang out and all that s***
She got played by an adult and her parents should have stopped it

But why?

It was my post and this is exactly my point
But why?
Why are they allowing their underage daughter/sister to date a dude in his early 20's? Doesn't matter that she is mega famous or whatever excuse they'd try to use. It's gross.

Yeah I’m not mad at that view, I guess it probably is being talked about a lot more. The real issue here is that the parents knowingly allowed it to happen

Lock them up tbh
