Death Row Records > Cash Money

I mean talent wise yes, but influence?

Birdman got Wayne, Nicki, Drake Thug.

Those 4 probably the biggest and most influential of all of the current rappers

  • May 30, 2021

Dre, Pac, Snoop vs Wayne, Drake, Nicki

Im giving Cash Money the impact one up, especially in terms of current state of hip hop

Pac, Dre and Snoop in their prime >>

Nothing that ever came out of that camp can compete with The Chronic, Doggystyle, All Eyez on Me and The 7 Day Theory

True tbh. While it isn’t a great impact, it still did change the course of how rap was projected to go

Oh I agree, I think easily talent wise Death Row s***s on CM. The thing is, I think we forget about how many artists are influenced by Wayne and Drake. Every female rapper that is popular now basically has the blueprint from Nicki. And Thug has his camp that are popular now, including himself.

Whereas, Dre and Pac definitely influenced a generation, Snoop obviously influenced weed rap and Wiz. I just think Pac’s influence a little less than the rest of the people I listed for obvious reasons.

Dre I will say is by far the biggest argument you can make. He got entirety of NWA, Em, 50, Kendrick. Between Em and 50, they influenced so many, and Kendrick obviously is a huge artist as well. It’s really close in my eyes

  • May 30, 2021

Suge and it’s not even close

Thug was stanning Snoop on IG a few years ago and got him featured on his project Beautiful Thugger Girls

Drake listed All Eyez on Me as an influence on Scorpion

Wayne is a well known Pac stan

  • May 30, 2021

But obviously most of today's young artists are rather gonna be directly influenced by artists who came up 10 years ago than 25 years ago lol

True but who found all them

I’m just saying, I think their music is timeless and definitely influential but if you ask Thug, Wayne and Drake who really changed their music careers they gonna give you one answer

Weren't Drake and Nicki cosigned and promoted by Wayne? Birdman was just lucky to cash in on them afaik

  • May 30, 2021

Actually Gucci was the first one to promote Nicki and Thug

I mean yeah but I think you could easily say the same about 50 and Dre.

No way does Dre find 50 without Em.

Same thing with Suge tbh, I promise you without Dre, he isn’t finding half those niggas
