Love Travis but the quality of Birds takes an unforgivable nose-dive after Way Back

The ends remains my favourite Travis intro though, which is a strong accolade for Birds considering all his intros are amazing

Although I think it’s one of the weaker efforts in his discography, I have a HUGE amount of nostalgia tied to this album

Met one of my best friends to this day shortly after PUTP was released as we were on the way to a party together and he heard me bumping it. PUTP is my favourite Travis single ever, and a song that soundtracked summer 2016. Mannnn at every function that summer me and my bro would get PUTP on, it’s probably one of my most listened to songs ever ever in my life

Plus lurking on OG KTT in the run up to Birds was soooo much fun - endlessly replaying the LCRC snippet, the Forgive Me snippet, Mo City fléx snippet, Blue Pill snippet, bumping Yeah Yeah with Thug mannn 2016 was such a fun time to be a Travis fan

Ultimately, I understand why for this project he distilled and simplified his sound. He gained a lot of new fans with this release, I remember once I came back to college in the following weeks this had been released, people who weren’t previously fans always seemed to get it on the aux. It was then, that I knew Travis was undeniably destined for greatness even if Birds seemed like a sonic step-down from the grandioseness of Rodeo
