i mean the avengers movies were paradigm shifting, whole industry was shuffling to build something similar. they need to find a balance between letting directors cook and fitting in the universe but even then they at least try to switch up the flavors of the films... like u not gonna tell me Thor 1 and GOTG are the same vibe at all

Cmon, they have more flops than successes. Also Aquaman is known as trash that stroke gold. Joker was good (8.5) but overrated as a masterpiece and it was a one of, Phoenix isn’t coming back nor is Joker part of whatever universe DC is trying now.

Movie wasnt half bad but the title alone killed the film. How do hollywood execs spend their entire lives thinking about movie ticket sales and then not realize their movie has perhaps one of the worst titles of all time?

They don’t know that studios don’t get to keep 100% of the profit. It’s around 35 in China and 50 every where else. Also gotta count the marketing budget in there which can be as high as 150m for blockbusters. Many movies go over budget too. A few go under budget though, like most of Nolan’s if not all of them.

All that to say that Birds is a disaster financially.
