More often than not that's the exact reason why you have people run, and even if they have no reason to. The long history of how police do black people whether we are compliant or not, to me, justifies black people doing what they feel that they must do to best survive.

Cause if you do comply and end up say just getting arrested, you can still wind up dead and/or harassed by police in their cruiser or at the station.

The fact that you got people who will always make excuses for every single thing is why stuff like this will keep happening too.

that's not the point. police definitely need to be corrected. but racism exists and will exist regardless of rules put in place. people will find ways to be violent towards blacks. but that doesn't mean its smart to speed in traffic, play loud music, and run away. i'm talking about in this particular situation. not about any ones where people have complied

The point is complying with a police officer as a black person should never make you feel like you now have a 89% chance of getting shot instead of 90%...you shouldn't have to cross your t's and dot your i's to ensure your life won't be at risk over a simple traffic violation.

When y'all are looking at it like that, you're really missing the bigger picture and that it's more important that police officers interactions with black people should be improved immediately.

just like how i'm an asian person and know people are racist towards asians now. not comparing racism towards asians as the same as with blacks but since i know there is heightened chance for me to be attacked then i will bring a gun with me or a knife etc. obviously the situation is not the same and black people get murdered just for running outside but if i know cops are violent towards me then i will do what i can to protect myself, like lower my music, put a shirt on and try to be polite. it's messed up cause were in a situation where people have to do that just to get a CHANCE to not get shot. Police do need to get corrected. But at the same time you need to control what you can control at that moment. but it's f***ed up and this never should have happened
