the one thing its better than duke is tormenting your sanity (that’s not saying something as another build engine game). i never finished blood on high difficulties, it’s probably harder that shadow warrior

blood separates the men from the boys, you’re a legend to me if you can beat that on extra crispy

I'm playing black mesa right now and I'm almost finished and it might be the best fps game I've ever played although I think the xen levels dragged on a bit it was really cool at first but got old and I really miss being in a huge underground science station killing military guys

Half life alyx>dust life 1 and 2

its the same s*** just better graphics

Absolutley blew me away when I first got in xen and the epic music kicked and the giant space manta things were flying around I got tingles

apparently there are a lot of changes in black mesa? some stuff was cut but also a lot of things were added like the spider boss is an entire level in black mesa (probably longest boss battle ive ever experienced) but in half life its like a 6 minute fight

Black Mesa made the Xen levels last a bit longer, but they also improved them.

I'd say overall Black Mesa is the better experience in 2021 and it's not even close. They got Valve's blessing aswell.

I played half life 1 before but never even got to Xen because I was young and playing on a laptop without even a mouse rather than using a controller which I think makes it easier so I wouldn't know much about the Xen changes but I did noticed some changed in the black mesa portion of the game

You should play Half Life 2 and the episodes. They're even better to me. Insanely well made games.

yes I had the same experience with half life 2, found it difficult playing on a laptop im very excited to play It but im gonna play shadow of the colossus first to take a little break on half life
