Oh yeah he had me for a sec too I’m ngl lol. I would come close every time. I ended up taking a break and exploring more and doing more mini bosses and found something that helped. Went back to wind sage and got his ass pretty quickly

But i would say its a mix of the two styles - but its also way more action than rpg

And theres combos n perfect dodges

that sounds like dynasty warriors

Its a bit faster too probably a notch above bloodborne

Idk if you played it but Nioh is similar as well as an in between, but this one even moreso than the niohs - which the nioh guys also make ninja gaiden and dynasty warriors

Its souls comparisons is mostly just superficial and difficulty of some bosses

Theres no blocking either

I think a person coming from action games like bayonetta or ninja gaiden will have an easier time in black myth than a person coming from rpgs like souls or elden ring, i just personally happen to play n like both styles a lot

I like Nioh more tbh but im still very early in Black Myth

Nioh 1 is very good but Nioh 2 is one of fav games in general - nioh 1 has the better story but everything else is amped so much in part 2 i have nothing but love and good things for that game

The level/stage design in nioh 1 is the only knock against as its very basic but they improve upon it so much in nioh 2

Both niohs have hella build customization and a lot to do and nioh 2 is the same but more and has a similar mechanic of black myth where you can use weapons or abilities of bosses and big reg enemies - but nioh 1 n 2 also has the dope pokemon-like spirit animal system as well

Black Myth is good tho and im still really early so it could still be subjected to change

But the stance system in Nioh 1 and 2 is one of the most genius and engaging n rewarding combat system ever to me

Yeah lmao that was the thing that was hard for me too coming off of elden ring and i had to get used to how the combo system operates with the charge

Robe boss first multi phase fight wish i knew so i didnt go all out phase 1 i thot he was gonna be my 2nd one tap of the game
