Why everybody d*** riding this game? Does it have the whole journey to the west lore?
The game is based off the book so I would assume so
I like Nioh more tbh but im still very early in Black Myth
Nioh 1 is very good but Nioh 2 is one of fav games in general - nioh 1 has the better story but everything else is amped so much in part 2 i have nothing but love and good things for that game
The level/stage design in nioh 1 is the only knock against as its very basic but they improve upon it so much in nioh 2
Both niohs have hella build customization and a lot to do and nioh 2 is the same but more and has a similar mechanic of black myth where you can use weapons or abilities of bosses and big reg enemies - but nioh 1 n 2 also has the dope pokemon-like spirit animal system as well
Black Myth is good tho and im still really early so it could still be subjected to change
But the stance system in Nioh 1 and 2 is one of the most genius and engaging n rewarding combat system ever to me
My b just fixed all the typos n half sentences i was typing fast bringing my dog in the house
@Drezo
Robe boss first multi phase fight wish i knew so i didnt go all out phase 1 i thot he was gonna be my 2nd one tap of the game
Got em 6th try
The first phase is actually tougher imo, 2nd stage is more about endurance but the 2nd stage is really fun its like a dance

China got 1 im afraid
I finally beat the yellow wind sage
Alright f*** this game
Literally all I needed was a couple potions and I never use any in souls like games
so this a dark souls clone made by the chinese
Not a souls clone, but it does take elements from those games
I’ve been enjoying this a lot today and yesterday. I’m in the snowy region and have come across some of my favorite boss fights here. The combat is also getting way more satisfying the better I get a sense of the timing in this game. When to dodge to execute a perfect dodge, or which spell is the most beneficial to avoid a specific enemy attack. Just a better overall feel of how to work a monkey’s staff.

Facts, Once you get that timing down
More closer to a ninja gaiden or dmc imo
But i would say its a mix of the two styles - but its also way more action than rpg
And theres combos n perfect dodges
This game plays nothing like a dmc
The way these bosses play is straight up Souls lol

I said closer, and outside of bosses
Its actual gameplay is nothing like a souls, while some bosses are the only major things that is "souls" like
Hence my in the middle thought, similar to Nioh
I am still on the mountain tho
Of course theres a hidden boss based off the enemy i had the most trouble with
Got Elder 4th try ive grew so much
as someone who loves god of war, but isnt a fan of souls game would i like this?

If youre more a fan of og gow you might
If youre more a fan of new gen gow you probably wont
Its a mix of hack n slash and souls, while it is faster and has combos and such it will still have its difficulty spikes and there is no difficulty option
And its still moreso 1 on 1 like souls for the most part

The actual gameplay is exactly like souls.
From the mostly linear level design with the occassional optional branching path. To the enemies resetting after resting. Enemies having strong attacks you need to avoid and their placement being so you need to be careful around corners and ranged attacks or ganks. Your primary survivability being a dodge and a flask to heal. No Map. 1 difficulty option. NPCs more or less have to be found like some little secret encounters. Weapon has one light attack combo and a charged heavy attack. A prison level with tentacle lantern monsters draining your health...
I can go on and on. If this isnt a souls like than neither is Sekiro.
I respect not associating every game with Souls cause of its insufferable "git gud" snob fanbase tho.
Black wind down 3rd try man that was cool
Smash stance is best stance
Pillar Stance is my fave so far ain't really changed it much
waws stuck in the start of chapter 3, had to look online lmao, to go to the first shrine to travel to the next one like how tf they ain't put you there

Sekiro isnt a souls either and most would agree. Its nbarelt even an rpg. Sekiro has the hallmarks of npc quirks and FS excellent level design but the "souls" ends there.
What you talk about isnt gameplay and it does not play like souls at all which i already explained how the gameplay is different, and their level design is very simple and straight forward much like hack n slash - at least what ive seem so far.
Npcs sure, but thats still superficial to me and that alone doesnt make it soulslike.
None of the bosses ive fought so far are souls-like neither. The intermediate phases of a fight again is very hack n slash. The ping pong of Black and the recovery n suicide of elder etc. That isnt souls like. Most souls bosses have very clear defined "phases" and is mostly one mode until the next phase. The switch ups in these bosses are very Ninja Gaiden.
This isnt true unless your only main experience with action games are souls-like, imo.

The charge hit on smash is so good.
It does so much damage and most of the time it'll stagger any boss and any enemy so far 9 times out of ten
Ive been thinking of changing or trying out thrust stance soon tho since it seems to be based around timing and countering
