Yo I kept seeing this thread title earlier but couldnt actually access it, why did I have OP blocked?
I hate this talking point so much. The fact that a lot of black people in these two sectors have said this too. I understand the point. but it is clearly just another way to put black people down and guilt trip them.
People are really surprised that lots of black people have been pursuing these careers when historically a lot of other careers have been closed off to us. Even today, some recruiters expose their other recruiters of being racist and not trying to give opportunities to black people. So, why should we stop pursuing areas that many of us excel in?
Until black people in poorer areas have better schools that can actually support children to pursue more then people have no place telling us what we should and shouldn’t pursue.
