Too tired to explain how but that’s what it seems.

    • and I don’t mean “best” because i think both artists made better albums. But those albums seem to have had the biggest impacts on music, culture, styles, the youth etc

For runner ups I’ll say Born to Die, DAMN, Saturation 1-3 and Yeezus

EDIT: gonna also add Views / IYRTNITL , DS2 and maybe Flower Boy also

Not the best, but views was a moment

  • Hmm. Maybe they explain or capture that decade the best. But are not influential?

Yeah I think the guest list on TLOP shows a lot of the great artists of the time on one album, just by that alone I think its culturally significant, not to mention its Kanye well into his career still being creative and pulling from so many styles and yet making it great.

Blonde uses a kinda similar approach with alternative sounding production and I think his whole aesthetic is a part of influencing a different, better example of masculinity that isn't so toxic, the fact that its supposed to signify masculine and feminine on concept alone is cool (blond/blonde)

Along with the fact i'd bet it was probably Boys Dont Cry as the working title therefore going further into thinking about what it means to be male and/or masculine, we're seeing a lot of this conversation still and society is still evolving in the middle of everything.

    Melodrama by lorde out now
James Blake last couple projects out now
    Flowerboy and Igor out now
    Testing out now
Like a dozen other indie and pop projects im missing
    Damn by kendrick out now

The hip hop influence has been less than the rnb/pop/indie influence but it’s not really a rap project
