nah, you've also got
Pusha T
Curren$y
Big K.R.I.T.
Killer Mike
Future
Juvenile
Rick Ross
Boosie was bigger in the South than all of them except Juvie and maybe Future.
Ross had more of a National Reach, but people in the South wasn't really bumping him heavy compared to other southern artist.
I went to High School in the South in the Late 2000s, and I can tell you the Holy Trinity of that Era were Wayne, Boosie or Gucci.
Others mightve sold more records or had more of a national or international appeal, but those 3 were the most universally f***ed with artists in the city I live in (Charlotte, NC)
A whole bunch of people not from the south itt thinkin they opinions matter
Unless you have a texas or Louisiana ID stfu

"The South" isn't just 2 states lol
To a lot of people outside of that region, anything south of like VA is "The South" tbh

The thread is about 2 rappers from Louisiana which is why I said that. And a lot of people also are wrong. That Dixie line s*** is rubbish

That's true, but the thread brings the discussion of Southern Rappers in general.
But I got what you were saying, my bad on that.

VA ain't really the south to me. Kinda but the capitol is right there and beaches and s***, just not what you'd see when driving through real south. Elements but yeah
Somebody said future...

True
I'm originally from NY, but I always heard Southern People refer to VA as "Up North" and New Yorkers refer to it as "Down South"
I'd say "The American South" definitely starts as North as The Carolinas personally.

I don't consider those Atlanta niggas "southern rappers" because they make international/mainstream music. Or at least people like future. You still have to adhere to southern music elements to be a southern rapper in the conversation we're talking about at least.
Like Soulja Slim and Future aren't in competition

At the very least yeah. And yes that Mason Dixon s*** does kinda matter because the Civil Wars impact is still felt economically and socially in the South which is why there is such a difference between north and south infrastructure.

I understand that but I do disagree. Because wayne went from making southern music to mainstream s***. But in discussion for the goat southern rapper future isn't even in the top 25-30 for that

Well that's different though. It's like we were on the ride with him though so of course, but he already had his established southern base from being a proven southern rapper. Coulda probably said that I'm fewer words but yeah
Boosie def top 10:
Wayne
Outkast (overall)
T.I.
Scarface
UGK
J. Cole
Jeezy
Gucci
Ludacris
Boosie

Yea I do not follow
None of those artists have the impact or influence Boosie does besides Future and maybe Ross. Future don't really rap he more of an artist. Boosie more important to rap than Ross.
But if I remove groups Ross and Future can come
what? rapping isn’t art?
Niggas dropping lists with no webbie
Do yall even know who webbie is
what? rapping isn’t art?
Future more of an artist and not really a rapper like that
Do yall even know who webbie is
