And then Grant is a brick from anywhere but the corners so we can't really run any pick and pop with him. We switch everything on defense so our best rebounder is consistently away from the rim, and any competent guard knows how to attack Al too lol.

Now tatum and jaylen have to box out bigs lmao. The funniest f***ing s*** is we had Marcus Smart on the floor and Udoka had Grant Williams guarding Dejounte Murray, an all star level guard. 3 straight plays they just called for the pick to get Rob on Murray and they scored. What the f*** is the point of having good perimeter defenders if you just switch everything??????

Kinda wild how badly this team misses a guy like Gordon Hayward.

Having someone at the 3 who can not only create their own shot, but distribute pretty effectively to others made the Celtics much harder to guard. I think a pass first PG (who can actually shoot the ball) and a guy like this at the 3 spot would dramatically improve this team. Love Marcus but he’s proven that he’s best suited as a bench guy imo. Shifting JT back to the 4, where we apparently forgot that he used to play all the time, would help with his play style. He used to be a matchup nightmare for other team’s PFs, but to me, doesn’t really look as effective as a 3 with the added responsibility of ball distribution. I think he could get there eventually, but it’s just not his bag right now.

Yeah, probably the biggest reason they’re stuck in a s*** roster situation they likely won’t be able to get out of without trading one of the Jays is Ainge’s failure to get assets in return for Kyrie and Hayward. Even if Turner didn’t end up working out, he’s a great trade piece - something we basically don’t have right now.
