ppl celebrating in the quote tweets like this is the celtics downfall when one of the main issues this year was the lack of a real coaching staff
take em! I insist!
we're probs getting Vogel and Stephen Silas this off-season on the staff we really don't need whoever was helping guide Joe this postseason, especially since Hardy and Stoudamire are already gone and those were are best guys

Frank Vogel is an nba champion as HC
Highly highly doubt that he would accept an assistant coach position under a 34yr old, with 1 year experience
Silas is v likely to come, but ion know man, he was very bad in HOU
really starting to think trading this dude for a haul could make this team better

I agree Silas stunk at HOU but to be fair he was put into a s***ty situation on a suddenly rebuilding team and a front office turnover. He's not fantastic but he's a veteran in the field and would be good at helping out Joe imo.
Vogel I thought as well was a long shot but he's been heavily rumored, I think we might just get him

I'm way more conflicted now on trading Jaylen now that I've had some time to breathe tbh. I see both arguments: Jaylen is an all-nba caliber player and can be elite (we saw how he tried to carry us in the finals last year) and he is still very young. You could argue the best move is to keep him for this next year until his contract really kicks in, change around the supporting cast and give the Jays one more shot before jumping on a trade.
On the other hand: Jaylen has been in the league since 2016 and still hasn't improved on a lot of the issues that have troubled him his whole career and when he's cold he's cold as ice. It's hard to justify paying a guy max contract money when the reason you pay 2 guys is for situations like in game 7 where when one guy falls the other can pick it back up and Jaylen showcased that he could not do that, making him unworthy of the amount of money he's most likely gonna get.
But IDK, there's still that chance that they're just too young to go all the way quite just yet and just need some more time, but how much time is too much time? I've been hearing all opinions and IDK I'm conflicted lol.

Thankfully, other people get paid a lot more than us to make these decisions.
Its tough, because it definitely feels like Jaylen has hit his peak, and unfortunately it doesnt really look like hes a 2nd option on a championship team. But on the other side, I don’t think a better option exists, so you probably pay him and re tool the roster around them

I truly feel like even a desmond bane would be a better fit than JB. not that this trade is even possible but bane for JB straight up, and I don’t think we’d miss JB.
it depends on what teams out there are willing to offer. but if he’s worth a haul we should look into moving him. if he could get dame, or even 3 and simons, I would consider that for sure
but man JB gets his numbers but doesn’t raise the team’s overall offensive performance that much. he’s a good player but he’s def more expendable than most people realize.

Yah one things for sure I'm not envious of Brad Stevens position this summer lol
Yah I'm on the same boat as you, it's tough now because of how Jaylen's been positioned and the money he's now promised due to that, like you I'm not too sure of his potential of being a 2nd option but if you wanna keep him you kinda just gotta live with him now. If we can get a legit haul for him I'm not ruling out letting him go at all but it's def not gonna be for another all-nba type guy at this point.

Oh yah I agree with you, if we can get a legit haul for him I'm not afraid to ship him off. I'm a big fan of Bane that could be a cool fit if we can acquire other guys with Bane's cheap contract and Jaylen's off the books.
I'm really not sold on the Simons trade tho and that's the one I keep seeing suggested, unless we're flipping him and the pick for other pieces i don't see how Simons and a rookie improves a win-now team. We could get Scoot which would be awesome cuz he has huge potential but that potential isn't gonna happen in year 1 and also there's no real guarantee he's even gonna be there at 3 (yah Miller would be a better fit next to Melo for the Hornets but with such a young team like that they'll usually just go for best player then best fit) and then it's Miller and.... IDK he's good but not exactly a guy I'd wanna give up Jaylen for in his rookie year. At that point I'd rather just try with Jaylen again, just don't see how that trade benefits us at all. The Dame trade idea could be awesome though but I don't see that one being as probable.
We struggle against the zone, this man is the zone killer why isn’t he on the coaching staff?

Should’ve never fired him, what he did couldn’t be that bad he’s still in the nba
Jaylen is going to hit another level next season I feel it.
He’s given me no reason to believe he won’t improve
Ppl forgot he was just touted as an athletic guy that wasn’t a great shooter before the draft. He’s put in the work to vastly improve into an All nba player.
Now it’s time to mainly focus on handles and reads. I’m sure he feels largely responsible for this colllapse too so he’ll forsure be in the lab all summer #FCHWPO

can you name specifically what has he improved on the last season or two?
i saw someone refer to Butler as "the most athletic theater kid ever" and that pretty much sums it up
