skyward sword was like watching nintendo release a game at gun point
Why?
Why?
felt obligatory, not a lot of spark or new ideas present. and the ideas that were there felt flat and were jettisoned in the next entry

Surely there has to be some carry over this time with this new one being in the sky and what not
Think anyone can agree that Skyward sword is the worst 3D main title
Nothing wrong with that

i think the crossover is that there are islands in the sky but i haven’t played it so i don’t know

Yeah before BotW I havent touched Zelda since Wind Waker so I dont know about those
Skyward Sword is the only Zelda game I could never bring myself to finish
that’s too bad the best part is the ending tbh
it’s a lot better on switch now too, they removed a lot of annoying stuff, and it’s better without motion controls which is how you had to play on Wii I think
There’s still to much traveling back and forth slowly, a fast travel mechanic would’ve solved 90% of that though

I watched plenty of playthroughs throughout the years and remember the story pretty well. Idk, this one was just not for me. A lot of the dungeons did seem pretty cool though.
skyward swords kinda
even though it's still good I'd say
yeah for me you can't call it mid at least
Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword were good but not great so it had been 15 years since their last mastapiece (WW) before BOTW
that's fair - people are saying imagine if this game sucks - which essentially just isn't possible lol, sure not every entry is a era-defining game, but no way will it be bad
man the wii is actually too goated for how many incredible games there are.
we were 100% spoiled

That’s not saying much though lol, most of the 3d Zeldas are 10/10
yup :/
It's still the same game play philosophy they've had in mind when developing but yea, the more I talk the more I get into spoiler territory. Might not be as drastic of a change as Majora but it's infinitely more than just a DLC.
If you'd like to know a few things you could dm me without being heavily spoiled by the leaks thread.
Nah I've already seen too much
What you doing for work again?
Busy with work?
Yeah tbh I wasn't nearly as blown away with BOTW as everyone else but after I saw where they were going with this I could see it being the greatest Zelda as well. It the same magical turnover as Ocarina to Majora
Everything has been improved. Side Quests, rewards, collectibles, towns etc.
It also easily looks like one of the most ambitious games ever made (which is insane considering it’s on the Switch).
Basically, from what I’m seeing, BOTW is like a foundation for THIS. THIS is what’s possible with that game’s mechanics (expanded upon of course) and it’s world design.
Even in the year of insane releases that we’ll be getting, this is probably gonna be THE ONE.

yeah, twilight princess is good (not great) despite them clearly running out of ideas. and skyward sword is easily skippable has a couple strong scenes, but they in no way shape or form make up for how boring and tedious the game is.
i hate when people bring up re-releases in discussion towards skyward sword. i would hope 10 years of criticism would inform their decisions while porting. but to me at least it’s critically irrelevant. the game released and it kind of sucked s***ty motion controls and fi asking you to dowse included
Reggie mad now
imagine getting threatened by reggie over twitter
id flee the country fr

MUCH improved. Don’t really know fully yet of course because the game is so huge.

Great. That was one of my main flaws with botw. Many of the fun and strange monsters through the series were just absent. But even with the tiny bit of info i have on this, several of my wishes are coming true
