Question for y’all.
Do you care about the story in this game? Personally botw story bored me to absolute death. I just liked it from a gameplay perspective. Lots of zelda story and cutscenes never hit for me
There was almost no story in botw lol, in fact after the first 30 min all the story is optional

Nothing will ever match Ocarina, story wise. S*** was just so goddamn perfect in its simplicity.

yup
the entire feel of the game added to it.
BOTW was like exploring a post-apocalyptic world trying to piece together what happened through memories and NPCs. Hence the melancholic nature of the game. The vast spaces and sense of eploration enhancing this lonesome vibe. The memories only evoked regret, remorse and failure which were translated into game design. You were the one to "correct" history in a sense and end these tragedies.
Hoping here that TOTK manages to combine gameplay, game design and story similarly.

I don’t really care about story in most games. I’m a gameplay goblin.
A game with an actual great story is few and far between and if someone is playing games primarily for narrative then gamings future is bleak and we’re gonna be getting a lot more interactive movies instead of games soon.

My favorite Zelda stories are link's awakening, ocarina and majora's mask. All 3 of these games dont have impressive dialogues, countless plot twists or insane character development, but they got strong overarching themes that are explored both throughout gameplay and the story. So i'll say thats what i like in a Zelda game in terms of narrative. Botw did it too, although the execution wasnt as strong as the games ive listed above, but i still enjoyed it

I liked BOTW's story for what it was, I just felt like it could've been better written.
But the whole aspect of it being told from the viewpoint of a character that has just awoken in a post-apocalyptic barren world who has no memories was actually dope, IMO, and a nice change of pace from the usual Zelda storylines.
It wasn't the greatest story, but I liked the way it was told and it served it's purpose in driving me to explore the world, find all the memories, etc.
But I do hope TOTK has a bit better and more engaging of a storyline.
My delivery app says that my package will be delivered today. This might change but right now it says delivery in about 3-4 hours. Will let y’all know if it pops up
