fwt 2Got pretty bored of this and haven’t played in a few days, tbh.
Final verdict: depth has been sacrificed in the name of accessibility and that’s just not for me. In a vacuum, this is a good game and pretty much objectively replaces BOTW, even if I think the dungeons are worse. But the Majora’s Mask comparisons when it dropped were far too hasty and while “glorified dlc” was also wrong, it’s unfortunately closer to the truth than the former.
6 years of development time really just doesn’t show with this game and I’m struggling to understand what it was spent on when much content is (understandably) lifted from BOTW. What is new is frequently half baked then copy pasted everywhere (sky islands are the most serious offender here). I could go on and on about how much stuff isn’t really as deep as it should be but it seems to be a fundamental part of the game as is everything being accessible from the start.
It’s fine. It’s a perfectly good and serviceable game and I got a lot of hours out of it, but it just isn’t as impressive as it was 6 years ago.
Its nowhere near a glorified dlc lol also obviously BOTW was more impressive

Just about done with this region and I definitely agree it was the best of the main 4 imo

I think I'm getting close to the ending of the journey
2 shrines left, sky islands over Faron and spirit temple to explore, a few caves and wells to find still but I think I'll be finished in a few days for sure - Jun 11, 2023
