I always see the exploration in botw heavily praised and I guess they definitely did a good job crafting the world, but they sure did do an awful job at filling it with good stuff. everything is a korok seed or a shrine, which is already bad, but when the upgrades you gain from them lose their value quickly and eventually trivialize an already easy game, what am i gaining from the exploration? the stamina and especially the health upgrades go far past the point of necessity. can i have some different permanent upgrades, or some secret questlines, or properly hidden areas that don't just exist to set up a shrine quest?

Yeah killed the replay value for me. Elden Ring and Elder Scrolls did a way better job of rewarding exploration.

Yeah i loved elden ring although you gotta give breath of the wild its credit for inspiring that game

aside from Zelda being the father of open world exploration I don't see how BOTW inspired it too much
seems more like a fully realized Skyrim

I only say that because the director of elden ring specifically highlighted botw as one of the games that inspired the team working on it so maybe just the more free form nature of the game inspired them to do that in their game

also zelda gameplay is the core gameplay of the entire dark souls, demon souls, bloodborne, etc franchise, Miyazaki himself said so

Sure but I don't see the influence of BOTW, specifically

Korok seeds, shrines, towns, settlements, chests with weapons, rupees, arrows or materials, quests, horses, world bosses, areas like yiga hideout, the labyrinths, akkala, eventide Island, forgotten temple, typhlo ruins, minigames, and to a lesser extent enemy camps. I think the game had enough content and variety considering what ive listed. One might argue that chests arent that useful but in this game you'll always be in need of weapons since they break, arrows are very hard to come by, especially the elemental types, rupees you can get from chests and materials are important from some side content that ranges from buying a house to using those to fund the minigames from which you'll get even more money, cause unlike previous games rupees dont spawn under the grass.

I forgot but link's memories too!
U guys think we getting one more showcase?
We getting a final trailer, i think the gameplay demo from a few weeks ago was the only extensive showing we'll have
U guys think we getting one more showcase?
Maybe "one more thing" before launch. I'm not expecting a dedicated Direct but perhaps one final trailer or a little piece of footage.

No. A final trailer and that's it.

Well tbf rupees aren't exactly hard to obtain in botw either

They arent if you engage with the content you find in game, like the rewards for exploration i listed, and thats my point!

No but I mean u can just sell ore which kinda defeats the purpose of the side quests, i think I'm gonna limit myself in TOTK and not sell any items
Botw just didn't click with me, felt like they turned Zelda from the finely crafted world, pacing, and dungeons to the open ended stuff like later assassin's Creeds or the far crys. Changed the tempo of the game for me, Didn't feel the same pull or as unique

Tastes can't really be discussed but I think they added one substantial change to this formula with being able to climb and glide anywhere it really made exploring a lot more engaging
Hopefully totk finds a good balance between open world exploration and a more tightly constructed narrative

Aggghhhh assassin's Creed and just causes and s*** been had that. Felt like Nintendo was trying their damnedest to find ways to incorporate more modern game design into one of their IPs, even tho they normally follow their own M.O. for the most part.

That's fair tbh it felt fresh to me because I've never really been into open world games to begin with
