Jay rock had a well received album, schoolboy last album was solid, SZA will eventually return.

Kendrick no longer being on the label does signal a turn for the worst but let’s not act like they haven’t been doin their thing.

They just take their time and craft quality. Fans are anxious, pushy b****es about music and can’t wait to call you washed so why would they rush to put anything out?

I would have agreed with you more when the thread was made but by this point, almost ten years after GKMC ,I gotta admit, as silly it is to let the fickle audience dictate your moves, hype is an important part of putting music out that you want to be paid for and they seem to actively avoid building off of any hype they do get for their quality releases

I was constantly defending them from like 2013-2018 but tbh whatever logic top has that makes sense on paper it’s not really something that can be objectively argued, if enough ppl perceive something it becomes socially true

They could definitely do better with releasing albums by their artists but I wonder if the artists just aren't ready to release music. Anyway you look at it, its f***ed up.

TDE from 2011-2017 was one of the best in the game. So many amazing albums in those years.

2018 was when it started waning but it was still a pretty successful year

2019 they completely fell off a cliff and the only noble albums they’ve dropped in 3 years are Chasing Summer, THIB & Mr. Morale. Mr. Morale doesn’t really count though because they barely promoted it.
