sasukeNah i feel you, years ago during a difficult period i opened up about the idea of me needing to go to therapy & my family responded with "black people don't go to therapy" s*** sounded like something you'd read off Twitter but came out of a grown persons mouth
it's almost like it's taught to us to ignore these type of things, it's sad but like you said it is what it is, just have to do whats best for yourself
sounds like some s*** my mom would say. But yeah I constantly get the “just perk up” or “there’s always people who have it worse suck it up” which is understandable but hearing your feelings be invalidated especially by your own family can leave some nasty scars

One day i'll see what's really up but one things for certain; BPD is no joke. don't like the stigma around it & mental health issues in general, only makes matters & understanding others worse
You're awareness and willingness to admit that you might have a personality disorder makes me think that you don't at least not bpd. Narcissistic and borderline personalities are mostly unwilling to accept that they have a problem they think there "special" and everyone else is the problem, 0 accountability. Some traits of bpd are present in other disorders, but If you really think you have bpd I urge you to try to get help I wouldn't wish bpd on my worst enemy , bpd will not only affect you but the people closest to you as well and if left untreated it probably won't be good. Don't worry about a stigma do what's good for you people with bpd have suffered incredibly and need to learn to process there trauma without taking it out on there loved ones and passing there trauma onto them. Bpd might never go away but a bpd can learn how to manage it in order to be less destructive to themselves and others. It's a process as well so the sooner they get help the better.
