Also.. did you ever notice how the intro of Dancing in the Dark sounds like Young Turks by Rod Stewart?

Paulie, what were your favorite tracks? How many times have you listened since yesterday? Thoughts on the messages of the album?
I can’t bring myself to listen to this album cause I feel like it’s a bunch of anthem’s for right wing boomers but they also hate Springsteen so maybe it’s worth a try.

Best song is still Dancing in the Dark which I obviously knew before. I just didnt know the album. Higjlights are Cover Me and Downbound Train. Thoughts in the messages. Im not sure what its about Im not that far yet I need to concentrate to figure out

Jefferson, I absolutely get your hesitation. But I definitely feel you should give it a try because I feel you will be pleasantly surprised. And I've never steered you wrong, have I?

That's lovely to hear! What is it about those particular songs that have attracted you the most to them?

His voice especially. The cover. The synthesizer. The layered instrumentation especially those guitars. Good energy. I checked our Nebraska too but it wasnt the day I feel like. It was too raw to sad. It missed that modern/ timeless touch Born in the USA has.
Sorry somehow I didnt get a notification for your reply ydanny

I don't think Nebraska is less timeless just because of it's sparse instrumentation. But it is not the anthemic Springsteen you will be hearing on that album so you are right with that. Stripped down & raw.

Yeah I can see how this is yojr favorite. If you are probably more into his music having a rawer experience is always a nice edge. But this is my first active exposure to him so I think I resonate with his more appealing material first.

I completely understand. Go enjoy the anthems and if you ever feel the need for something different, you know where to find it!

Born in the USA is an anti-vietnam war song. Ironically the songs been played at political rally's for warhawk politicians, and Bruce constantly has to issue cease and desist orders for it.
but yeah right wing boomers hate the boss. Bruce is a man of the people.

Well done, Big Tub. I couldn't seal the deal but you swooped in and did what had to be done.

now that makes sense. Makes the album all the more enjoyable
damn he got a bb belt on
I am a huge fan of early Springsteen, like the first three albums. The Van Morrison/Bob Dylan inspiration is right up my alley. So it took a little adjusting to get into Born in the USA with its 80s production, but now I love it. Great hooks and songwriting with relatable, down to earth storytelling. One of those undeniably classic pop albums.
