Born in the USA is an anti-vietnam war song. Ironically the songs been played at political rally's for warhawk politicians, and Bruce constantly has to issue cease and desist orders for it.
but yeah right wing boomers hate the boss. Bruce is a man of the people.
I had a brother at Khe Sanh
Fighting off the Viet Cong
They're still there, he's all gone
He had a woman he loved in Saigon
I got a picture of him in her arms now
The long pause after "he's all gone" is heartbreaking, like a moment of silence for his lost fam How anyone could hear this as a warhawk song is beyond me.

yeah it's honestly unbelievable how often the songs been used for these rallies when the message of the song opposes everything the politician stands for
Glory Days is another song I have a gripe with how people perceive it. I often hear people saying they hate how he waxes nostalgic on the album and cite this song, but the songs not about how great the old days were.
The songs about how so many of us grow up living miserable lives, and we go get drunk at the bar, and talk about those few "glory days" we had playing high school ball before the real world crushed us. It's not a happy song about the good ole days, it's terribly depressing lol

This brings a lot of joy to me. When I registered on the Kanye West music fan forum, I had a few things in mind. First of all, I wanted to discuss music with likeminded individuals. Secondly, I wanted to discover new music. Thanks to various topics, album listening clubs & radio shows, I've also had the pleasure of seeing this fulfilled. Third, I wanted to share the music that I love with others. To see people genuinely discovering & enjoying the music I post about on these forums? That's something that is truly beautiful. Thank you, Paulie. You brought a tear to my eye, and a smile to my face.
