Don't read if you don't want to - I understand, this s*** is stupid.
Like people, good with people, wouldn't mind something forward facing.
I've got a 60% average in my sisters first year Philosophy class - She just needed a module for the credits, it's all essays and I've just read up and did them..
Considering Law, Consulting, Accounting and Software Dev, why?
Law - Liked Law modules in my degree, did quite well, find it interesting.
So yeah.
I don't know what I should be looking at or what questions I should be asking myself.
Any suggestions
Again - Don't read if you don't want to - S***s boring
What do you mean by business grad? That can mean a lot of things. Like a Business Admin degree?
Also, don't go into Big 4 public accounting. It's just not worth it unless you're aiming for a faster promotion into higher positions in industry, as someone in accounting. Or you land into consulting.
Aint giving out any advice to a business student
Pull yourself up by your bootstraps and get it figured out big dog
If youre fresh out of college apply to everything. You're not exactly at a point to where you can be picky with your job.

Yeah but that's the aim haha - I told the lecturer, a guy I get on well with that I want to make it to C Suite.
He teaches Strategic planning and implementation, I've been top of his class so I straight up asked - If I want to get to a level where I'm making strategic decisions for a Business, what's the quickest route he said Big4 Public Accounting, Audit has best exposure and so on

That's true, but keep in mind that Public Accounting is no joke. It's hard on you with very long hours and pretty bad compensation. You can get into the C-suite if you really want to just as much as if you went into industry, it'll just take more networking and time.
If you go the PA route, get your 2 years, make it to senior, make sure you have the requirements and sit for the CPA, then get the f*** out into a senior position in industry.
Accounting kind of sucks. The pay is mediocre and it's mind numbing. Being a CPA requires a lot of school, and the test is hard af. If you have good grades and are prepared to study a lot for your LSAT law is good, but if you don't think you can make it into a top 10-20 program it isn't really worth it imo. I think maybe you would like data a***ytics.
It can really be a mix of the business/math aspect and the technological aspect, and it pays well with a great work/life balance.
If you're not sure, I think it's better to work while you decide rather than spend 2 years getting an MBA to then discover you want something different.
create a start up attract some investors and then begin laundering money away from the business claim bankruptcy and then repeat that s***

Software dev from my experience you either love it or force yourself to do it.
Business law pays out the ass but it’s boring tedious and takes forever to get a degree.
Accounting is ass but pays well. Yeah big 4 —> cushy Corp job —-> mba —> cushy manager job
Consulting was my first business love. It’s a grind it’s rewarding when you win but F***ing terrible all the other times. You’ll work like a dog. Putting in 80 hour weeks and log your time as 50. You’ll never see business the same. You’ll spend all your time solving problems to things that don’t matter. You’ll hate your job. But when that bonus comes in, when your partner taps you to be on that project you’ve been eyeing, and when that hot girl thinks it’s sexy that you spend all day telling people what to do you’ll love it. It’s like getting punched in the d*** but then busting the best nut after. It’s like a sexy women who calls you worthless and spits on you then rides you until you bust. If that doesn’t sound appealing consulting isn’t for you.
But yeah great time to graduate chaos is a ladder.

Consulting sounds awful every time I hear someone describe their time.
A***ysis is like 1/2 the work for the same amount of pay. I can do 3 hours of focused work, schedule some "update emails", and not do s*** for the rest of the day.
I’m ex Big 4 and now do equity/credit research
As someone who probably has ADHD — I hated big 4 but it did earn great exit opportunities after 1.5 years
I’d honestly recommend consulting and big 4 if you have no clue what you want to do .. the amount of industries and service lines you could potentially go into give a lot of room to explore
I never thought I’d be in the current role I’m in 2 years ago .. just the name of big 4 and my client serving experience were enough to secure me an offer

Worth noting you don’t even have to go the corp. finance or CPA route to succeed after big 4
Finance careers don’t care about the CPA as much and if you want to lateral into consulting/pure finance you can after Big 4 Audit or Advisory
Me and two other associates I knew from my class left after 1.5 years for PE/Investment Research/Asset Management roles

That big 4 stamp on a resume is crazy

Yea it was worth it honestly and I despised accounting

What would you recommend doing in the accounting field?
