Well, let me just make sure I'm not in a red state by the time the democrat party burns so at the very least I won't be totally screwed.

you're still discussing ideology regarding progressive/social liberalism vs corporate liberalism

the point is that they still operate within the same machine so fundamentally they will not change anything as long as they exist within a corporate framework like the US political system, or, more specifically, the Democrat party

Ro khanna isn’t a progressive liberal

Im not sure that’s a thing..

    He’s a social democrat. A center-leftist

In December 2017, Khanna criticized President Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, saying, "The United States and Israel share similar values of peace, democracy, and entrepreneurship. We should always look for ways to strengthen the relationship and address Israel’s legitimate security concerns. The President’s decision to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, however, is misguided and does not advance peace."

Idk how middling view on israel makes him corporate

He can still be a Center leftist and have a “view” like that

That’s like half of the people in the canadian New Democratic party or uk labour party

Doesn’t make them non social Democrats. And doesn’t even apply to our discussion of US economic policy which he’s excellent on

Even his other foreign policy views have been good, specifically on yemen and saudi arabia

not a fan of bernie once again, these people exist within a larger political machine for which they'll happily give up ideals to keep the machine oiled

I have a level for respect for them but I place no sort of responsibility upon them to improve this country because they won't do it

Israel will definitely get dissolved bro

    It’ll happen anytime soon.

And anyone that doesn’t support that despite being empathic, caring people who support human welfare is automatically a fraud

    What an absurd position

Most social Democrats do not “support” israel

Bernie definitely doesn’t and I wouldn’t say i do either but by drawing your line towards such a politically and impractical endpoint muddles everything else

that is not the line in itself, but the support of a colonial apartheid state is an indication of a much larger set of ideals and allegiances which i am wholeheartedly against.

    use nuance.

But your dancing around with the word “support”

Before this conversation there’s no standard where a person would say i support israel. I am anti settlement and pro palestine

But thinking that believing the state of israel should be dissolved is just a straight up intellectually weak idea

That’s like seeing what was happening in South Africa in the 90s and saying instead of increased democracy and rights and transition towards inclusivity let’s just dissolve the whole south african state itself

its intellectually strong to support the transition of a colonial apartheid state into a representative democracy while doing nothing to address the economic damage caused by apartheid almost like the capitalist system allows for people at the top to entrench themselves regardless of form of government and the entire system must be dismantled and rebuilt around a redistribution of wealth
