There are currently social Democrats in power provincially in Canada

Federally they are in unofficial collision basically with the liberals

    It’s possible

and what good has that done? and in the US, it will never happen

what a great transition South Africa had!

Income inequality in modern day South African is a separate issue

In all avenues of life the country has done an amazing job enfranchising the black population in 30 years

But obviously as a developing country it still has its issues

In the pandemic they expanded his $1400/month check to $2000/month for a year a half

    Eviction moratoriums, etc

They’ve hundred percent pushed him left seeing how they literally are the deciding votes for his agenda and due to our parliamentary system them being a separate party they have 0 loyally to liberals

Income inequality and lack of political representation are precisely the same issue considering they stemmed from apartheid

Black South Africans are extremely politically represented

The quality of the representation is another issue, that again stems from general problems any relatively corrupt developing country faces

But as far as overturning the white political class that’s like the biggest area they made progress in. Go look at the last south african presidents and what their congress looks like

You were making a point that progress in an apartheid state is impossible unless full dissolution is achieved and that South Africa’s approach to dealing apartheid was unsuccessful

    But that’s just literally false

Black South Africans now largely govern themselves. And their government is very representative of that

Obviously south africa is farrrr from perfect but to that question of ethnic oppression and apartheid they’ve madee leaps

Kanye/Elon/DeSantis/Trump are the only right options.

This the most unhinged post I've seen on this forum since that one guy said weird s*** about Lisa Simpson

apparently in new polls generic republican/democrat ballots have R at +8 to +15 nationwide; democrats need an estimated minimum a +5 to retain congressional majorities + equal senate, but are down legit -10 . the administration itself has dipped down to almost 30% approval rating in purple states which biden won as well. 2022 & 2024 are going to be utter bloodbaths

Apparently the estimated polls for republicans are the highest in modern history, and with inverting the stats (i.e. anti-democrat -> republican approval), would lead to a GOP approval rating over democrats even higher than Bush's approval rating during post-9/11. At the height of the tea party, the GOP has a national +3 generic ballot nationwide polling avergage. this is FIVE TIMES HIGHER.

and these poll numbers come from ABC/WaPo, they aren't coming from Rasmussen or Fox this is unprecedented

if the 2016 election was held again in november 2017, trump would have lost in a landslide

if the 2020 election was held again today, i honestly think he wins relatively big

2022 & 2024 are gonna be absolutely insane for the GOP. They literally were handed it on a silver platter, all they have do is nothing but say "look at the democrats lol". It's what the dems did against trump post-2016 but on steroids because of how many asinine policies and events the GOP can point to instead of just trying to paint Biden the way the media painted Trump (they already tried that and it didn't work out so this was like utter godsend luck to them). If Democrats don't actually reform their party they're gonna even more become of the party of California, NY, & New England with no viability anywhere else again
