suzukiman you know how everyone loves the crazy kung fu and slow motion gunfights in the older matrix movies? what if in the new one we barely have any of that s*** and it's just people talking. subvert expectations

Smith was the worst part of this movie
Wachowskis still obsessed with a character that shoulda been finished 3 movies ago even if he was a huge highlight in the sequels
Him being inserted into the new matrix by the machines after all the s*** he pulled previously was beyond idiotic and unlike neo and Trinity being stored, made zero sense for them to do
Then he just pops up, fights neo and morpheus, then saves them at the end. That part felt so fan ficy and out of place, forced
Once Weaving couldn't be apart of it they def shoulda just rewrote him into a different character, hell if you wanna do fan service just make merovingian neos boss
what matrix fan really was like "this franchise needs more smith" after 3 whole movies of smith(s)? And on top of it you do it recast, so unnecessary and forced
Dude had some good lines sure, but no real purpose, and him betraying the machines at the end just makes them including him tgat much more mind boggling

Big question is if it’s kino or not but thread ain’t ready for that conversationI loved Groff’s take on smith but I could easily see that it was mostly just fan service to bring him back. I also think they felt obligated because of how big the character became as part of the franchise
