What I said was that I've noticed a weird proportion of silent film nerds are right-wing and see Griffith in particular as part of a lost cinematic Eden before 'degeneracy' took hold, these people basically only watch Griffith, Stroheim and Flaherty and will praise some random modern movies for flavour like the Star Wars prequels
That's not to say liking silent films is inherently right-wing, but that's absolutely a kind of weirdo you can find a lot of on twitter, letterboxd and /tv/. I don't think liking silents mean's you're right-wing, I'm not right-wing but I enjoy a great many silent movies and consider Intolerance to be a pretty undeniable masterpiece even if BoaN is unwatchably racist
