SegaDreamFlashIt worked for people cuz it gave that badass Man With No Name feel but also kinda deconstructed it cuz dude was a psycho who clearly watched too many movies.
OGF is cool in certain aspects but he was kind of a loser who probably wanted to f*** his mom and gets his ass beat by the only guy who could fight back
But the whole thing of OGF is his mother controlling his life. Him being an extension of his mom. The product of incest & a family that deals in murder.... he had close to none thoughts of his own, everything was motivated or better yet instructed to him by his mother
That's why he doesn't talk much imo. He's nothing but his mothers soldier & slave in that regard, always chained to her phsyically and chained mentally to the death of his father that he was guilty of (i believe this was more coming from his mother than from his own urges)
At least, that's how i interpret the film. It makes the silent protag a necessary thing for OGF on a thematic level

This is a spot on a***ysis but sometimes that s*** don't work for certain viewers. I like NWR to an extent, Bronson a classic imo but I could see why his style doesn't work for others.
Gosling clearly supposed to be a sociopath in OGF for sure though so the quiet s*** makes sense.
