… I've been trying to make you love me
But everything I try just takes you further from me
You don't love me, and so you treat me cruel
But no matter you hurt me, I'll always be a fool
🅿️auline at the Beach
Don't forget how funny the movie can be as well despite all the terror
When Kakihara reaches for his inside pocket and all the yakuza guys in the room immediately bounce back at the same time
Nobody wanted to mess with dude PLUS HE HAD THE DRIPPPPPP FAM HIS FITS WERE CRAZYYYY
Glad you loved it, now there's still 102 crazy Miike films left
I’m not sure how Kakihara ended up being the craziest when you got Ichi up in there
One part made me dying laughing, when Long hears the police outside his room and he slowly slides the window and the twin is just looking right at him for like 5 seconds
Sometimes i'll just be watching my favorite trailers over and over again
Perfectly cut.

Saw a great observation of the movie that i thought I should share
Honestly probably one of my favorite things about the movie
“ What I love about Ichi The Killer is it takes a "hero" film, and basically flips things.
We have Ichi, who is the title character of the film. He dresses in a costume, and goes around killing evil people. You would think we should root for him, but he's a repulsive and pathetic person who gets off on a rape fantasy. He's put into the role of the sadist as well.
Then we have Kakihara. He's a gangster. He's got an odd look, and does odd things, but I think we find ourselves rooting for him. When he basically gives "the finger" (or rather "the tongue") to his mob bosses, and starts to amass a following, we cheer him on. He's obviously in the part of the masochist, he's obsessed with feeling pain.
We find ourselves, more or less, siding with the villain, instead of the hero
The whole film culminates in the ultimate showdown... or rather it doesn't. Ichi is a complete loser, and basically just cries and can't do anything. Kakihara stabs himself, and is presented with a "fantasy" of how he wishes things happened.”
