I’ve found it’s a huuuge help going on google or YouTube and finding an easy synopsis of the story and it’s plot beats before hand
There’s always one made for kids that study it in school that boil the stories down in a simple way
Having that in your head and knowing the general plot points allow you to follow much better, because even when the dialog gets insanely heavy and complex, you still know ‘okay this is when ____ happens’ so you know where we are story wise’ and it’s let’s you gleam some context and begin to understand what they’re saying a bit better since you know what’s going down
It’s also not really spoilery because you’re kinda meant to be aware of the story and are going to see how it’s told and portrayed in whichever version you’re peeping
