Did Roger Avery play a significant part in Tarantino's writing for the earlier films? I wonder sometimes. I know Sally Menke helped a ton with the pacing of his films and her absence is noticable, but the writing from Pulp Fiction also has an extra layer I can't put my finger on...a finer quality to it

Yeah, for Pulp Fiction if i remember correctly, It was on a podcast were he mentioned that he went backpacking in Paris, had a crazy time and it inspired some stories that ended up in Pulp Fiction and Killing Zoe.
