    They call everyone a communist

Yes but let’s be real — you would hear that way less if it’s Shapiro, Kelly, or Beshear.

The point I’m trying to make is that Walz is perceived by everyone as way more left than the other candidates.

All her picks are gonna have an issue there is no perfect VP and Walz is no bigger a risk than Joe picking Kamala in 2020 they had a harsher history and she had as much if not more heavy baggage.

Shapiro and Walz being the final 2 is crazy to me tho

Walz is my governor and has been about as good as I can realistically expect. Aside from "communist" policies that are actually more popular than moderate policies, he's great at messaging, favorable with unions and teachers, and a relatable human as opposed to someone doing a mediocre Obama impersonation

My only counter theory possibly is that ‘____ is a radical leftist communist who wants to tear down statues and defund the police’ isn’t anything new for trump to lob at the opposition. He’s been saying all that stuff about Kamala for a long time. Will saying it about two people really cut through enough to be a huge detriment to the ticket?

Whereas Shapiro does have some lines of attack that could open up new dynamics. Kamala is a law and order candidate who wants to arrest me? She called me a rapist on tv? Her own VP covered up a rape! She was a great judge? Well she’s chosen a VP who declared a homicide a suicide. She hates private schools? Her own VP loves them so maybe she doesn’t know what she thinks.

I think they both have strengths as politicians and in ways they add to the ticket, but in terms of things that could be poked at by the republicans and actually have effect, just painting Walz with the same stuff he paints Kamala with may actually work as a neutralising agent. Oh he’s just saying that stuff about both of them, it’s boring and tired. We get it they’re radicals. Where as Shapiro has some genuine unique openings

Still think it’ll be Shapiro though for the reasons you’ve obviously correct laid out but yeah if we are solely looking at which of the two make for better fodder for Republican/Trump attacks, I think there’s a case that it’s Shapiro

I still have yet to hear what the issue with Beshear would have been

And somewhat of a sidenote, but I still think the Kamala VP pick was super dumb. She didn’t help with any swing state and I feel like she was supposed to help with the left vote but the left didn’t even like her lol

I assume he failed chemistry test with her as that was what we last heard the three options were doing and now the word is those are done and it's only two left.

    He was my pick tho

This is the type of ammo that the GOP has been dying to levy against Kamala and works really well with the suburban voters that she needs to get. Choosing a VP that furthers this image is a horrendous decision strategically

They already tried this in 2020 in case you remember that was an election year , nd he was also re elected as governor

But at the end of the day nobody cares about VP

Unless you pick a really terrible one like JD Vance

In which case now everyone cares just to say they hate him

Walz’ elections were in 2022 and 2018, but I’m sure you’re right that they used that against him in 2022

Yeah in all reality you guys are right in that VP really doesn’t matter unless it’s someone who REALLY helps (if Shapiro didn’t have his flaws, it would be a massive boost to have a popular swing state governor on the ticket) or REALLY hurts (which I think it’s fair to say Vance qualifies given Trumps polling over the last couple weeks and Vance’s favorables)

Walz cracked the f*** down on the BLM stuff and he’s the guy who sent the National Guard in, he’s been getting criticized for that from the left but the right thinks he was too lenient lmao

Yea her only bad pick is Shapiro who I think she'll give it to just because if he's made it to the final two after everything thats come out then he was the only choice they wanted.

Gonna be interesting seeing how she responds to the damage he's gonna do cuz he's no Vance but he weakens her messaging and Trump is gonna have a field day with him.

Yeah but man Shapiro does have major baggage. Like major major. It'll be hypocritical of Trump & co. to attack him on the sexual assault case that his office had but it's still a legitimate attack.

Plus his major pro Israel stance will cause younger voters to lose some support for the ticket
