I’ve been highly considering this series and this post just may have pushed me over the edge. I’ve actually been out of the video game scene for the last 6-7 years and am trying to find out the best of the best in terms of what I have missed.

I keep hearing extremely positive reviews about this trilogy, specifically the 3rd one.

I value most a good story in a video game. My three favorite games of all time are FFVII, Castlevania: SOTN, and the original MGS. So you would personally recommend this more than any other game that has come out in the last decade?

yeah the DBZ game is $80 at walmart... I dont even have $5 to my name right now...

Kingdom hearts collection has the most content but honestly the game sucks
Both dragon Ball games aren't worth it unless you get it pretty cheap
Spiderman is a good game and you can find it cheap for like 20 bucks if you look hard enough.

disclaimer here that im not big on japanese games, just certain pet peeves i have with the game design and some tropes, so i cant tell anything about the games you listed.
but i would absolutely recommend this above any other game if you care even a bit about story.
the first one has the best story, an experience i will never forget in my life. if you go in blind, i envy you. dont watch any trailers, just explore for yourself. the gameplay is a bit rusty in this one, although still miles above above most RPGs from the 2000s
the second one is the perfect unity of combat and story, thats why people think its the best.
third is amazing, but held down by an ending most were disappointed in.
one of the craziest things about these games is that its an incredibly tight trilogy; all choices carry over between games. if a character dies due to your decision, he stays dead in the next games. nothing like this have ever been made on this scale.
do it fam. worst case you lost out on like 20 bucks

Third one might be the weakest in the bunch tbh. ME1 is great if you can look past the Mako and the load times. ME2 is one of the best games of all time, no cap. ME3 I'd probably give a strong 7-mid 8/10

I honestly don't mind the ending, but it could've been more creative for sure.

Off topic, I already bought Andromeda, but I haven't played it yet bc of how brutally it was panned. Is it worth giving a spin?
