I'm having a heated argument with my friend about this, I say that in this price range I probably can probably hear the difference if it exists at all, maybe I'm just don't know what I should look for. He says that at this price I probably can't, but if my setup was more expensive like twice or thrice more then I would hear it immediately.

Probably not with those headphones. Especially not since I assume you're not using a high quality dac/amp. But regardless you probably wouldn't with those budget headphones.

Yeah that's not the type of product you're looking for in this use case.

Can you advice headphones that I can buy or speakers to feel the difference, maybe dac/amp?

Definitely put your money into headphones before you get the dac/amp. What's most important here is your budget. Think of what the most you're willing to spend is, and then wait so that you can double that. I can give you suggestions if you have a price point.

I'd say 400$, wasn't really planning on buying anything, but after that talk.
Like I was sure that since hd280 pro are marketed as studio headphones that I can hear everything in them.
Try the Tidal HiFi test. It plays FLAC and AAC 320

Anybody can market their headphones as studio headphones. Maybe it's a studio in the backseat of your car. It doesn't really mean anything.
The headphones I'd suggest in the order of how highly I suggest them are
Beyerdynamic DT1990Pro
Sen HD660 S
HifiMan Sundara
Fidelio X2
For a dac amp either get the Schiit Magni/modi or the JDS atom stack

I have the 650s which are 5 times the price of the 280s and even those don’t magically reveal everything.

Last year I got a pair of HD58x and have loved them ever since Seem to sit in a great spot for $value.
Worth noting here as someone that is $3,000 deep in headphones. You will likely be satisfied with almost anything you purchase. If whatever you purchase is the best set of headphones you've personally ever had and you like the way they sound, they are perfect for that time being. Yes there will be better stuff out there, but if you've never heard better headphones then as far as you need to know you already have the best there is. Make sense? Like every time I've ever upgraded my headphones I never needed to because the old ones just weren't good enough it's because I was just chasing the next best thing. I could have stopped upgrading 2 headphones ago and still be satisfied.
Once you hit the $400 price range, maybe even $300 in some cases, you don't really need to go higher unless you see yourself as a major enthusiast and you have the other gear to go along with it.

Oh, thank you, very much needed words
Maybe I'll buy Sennheiser, I like listening to music doesn't want to miss out on some details, especially that now I found out that my setup is nowhere as expensive.
@dankulo And how much does the dac/amp cost?
its about the mix of the music all that mp3 320 and flac falls in the water if the music ass

First Take by Travis

Yeah, I agree, when Kanye records his voice on an Iphone and Mike Dean mixes it for listening in Honda Civic

$200 total. $100 for each

there's no point in arguing with someone u dont know about mp3 vs flac when the people making the music themselves are not that focused

But I've downloaded vinyl flac rip of Sinatra Jobim and mp3 rip of the same album, heard maybe a very slight difference which considering Dankulo's comment can be my imagination or just a difference between CD and Vinyl.

its controversial to say
but most of the time is placebo
key: most of the time
but alot of other times theres some spatial sounds going on u cant hear right if it aint flac, but still full circle the discussion - it all depends on the mix how dense it is, if its quality

DAC/AMP is all placebo. I used to have a top of the line DAC and headphone amp setup. Well not too of the line but it was damn expensive, I think it was called the frost DAC.
