I think its more our generation (im class of 2014 hs, so thats where im speaking) dont really care what the next person is doing each their own overall
People still get married & have wants of eventually getting married but they dont relaly put pressure nor judge others if they are or arent
im 22 so i have a bit longer before we enter that phase of life but yeah
ik for a fact i want to get married but just because i enjoy being exclusively romantic with someone not for every other label, ik that finances are a big thing in marriage too but you should already know what you’re getting into regardless
Boomer reasoning
Take me out the trap take me off the market take me off the map
Theres a quote in The Departed when Alec Baldwin says "Marriage is an important part of getting ahead; lets people know you're not a homo. Married guy seems more stable. People see the ring, they think 'at least somebody can stand the son of a b****. Ladies see the ring, they know immediately you must have some cash or your cock must work"
Hope that's not the case because I don't plan on proposing to my GF anytime soon.

Alec Baldwin murdered someone
@Caun murdered anyone because hes a P****
Niggas planning they lives according to a movie quote
i thought he actually quoted James Baldwin
Getting married before you’re 23 like a lot of people still do is easily a worse decision that not as many people talk about because it was the norm in society for vast majority of human history
I can definitely see it being tough not being married in your 30s if you’re single though. If you want a relationship, a lot of women your age will have been taken, and it might set off some red flags to women wondering why you’re single in your 30s. I don’t really see it being a big deal for career though.
I say this as someone who got married 2 years ago at 29

Yeah, but there’s a quote in The Departed when Alec Baldwin says "Marriage is an important part of getting ahead; lets people know you're not a homo. Married guy seems more stable. People see the ring, they think 'at least somebody can stand the son of a b****. Ladies see the ring, they know immediately you must have some cash or your cock must work"

I wasn't expecting the movie quote lol but yeah I can imagine for some employers It's a thing. we're always being judged, professionally and personally. that's never gonna change
nobody actually addressed the point.
all u in here like "how could u get married just based on other ppls perceptions of u?" im w u like marriage is personal first n foremost
but the question is "does being married affect ur career" and lets be f***ing real here, s*** like job applications and promotions is largely determined by other ppl's perceptions of u. it's a perfectly fair question to ask.
but all u idiots just want 2 get off on being better than op so u moralize it n get on that "how could u get married for someone else opinion of u" tip so fast. not even realizing it's a tangent, not even directly tied 2 op
holy s*** you might be my twin
i'm the exact same way and cause of my terrible social anxiety i been pushing wedding talk back and back
lmaoo damn i thought i was the only one
s***s mad stressful to even think about, i do the same s*** lol. everything about it just increases my anxiety haha
just go to a court house or do it at home with like close family
that’s how my dad married my step mom
yeah i’d honestly love to do it that way just nice and low key
I’m 100000000% the same way trust, as long as you’re having open communication with your girl then there’s no issue for now. But end of the day do it for her and y’all’s parents
yeah facts haha. i know she really wants to and is waiting for it. i just gotta get over that anxious hump. but it’s hard
lmaoo damn i thought i was the only one

Nobody you’ve spoken to has anxiety ?
It’s because people who are married with children appear on paper to have some stability and looking for something stable as well.
No, I know plenty of people that are well over 30 and not married and doing very well professionally
I live in Atlanta, being married don't make you not gay bro
It’s because people who are married with children appear on paper to have some stability and looking for something stable as well.
But then the divorce rates say people have trouble staying loyal or making good decisions
