yeah bro “oh idk im not sure about god but god most likely exists than not”

    im gucci

It's not about god "most likely" existing or not, it's about whether you think it's knowable or not

That's where for many faith comes in for people who are religious, believing in something despite not knowing it

well imo, the only fruitful discussion that can be had about God is its existence, that’s the framework i work from so my apologies

    who?

    Mostly german idealists

    Not their whole books tho

How is this relevant tho you're not exactly making arguments that need any higher understanding of any philosophy

I think you're confusing "God" for a creator and while its possible we're in a simulation or something similar to that we still need concrete proof of that. For all we know this is a novel written by the flying spaghetti monster

He is a creator which is why the human race are all creators by nature.

Because we were created in His image.

because you’re playing word games instead of making any actual arguments, which is leading me to believe you don’t know any actual theistic nor idealist arguments at all

And bro you s*** on materialism all the time and i can ask you have you read any texts on dialectical and historical materialism? The answer is no, you just have a hateboner for materialism because you've read some texts on metaphysical materialism and now think that's all that materialism can be

Give me a f***ing break you're not the one to talk about people saying things about topics they're not well read on

ya the whole word combining word salad thing for me isn’t really my speed

atheism is the disbelief or the rejection of god

agnosticism does not take a position on either, or thinks there isn’t a reason to assert either theism or atheism

theism is the belief of god

    everything else is mental masturbation

why do you think agnosticism means not taking a position on either

this is always how i understood it idk. you can "take a position" but still believe its unknowable

Berkeley, Kant, Plato and Hegel all thoroughly attack materialism in all of their books, they literally build up the materialist principles and arguments and deconstruct them throughout their books, in addition to reading them and religious philosophy which is primarily idealistic, im pretty sure that i have a solid grasp of materialism + physicalism at the barest of minimums (if not thoroughly) a general sense

now you and the other commies constantly keep shilling Marx and Lenin who literally adopted materialism solely to supplement and affirm their ideology instead of any actual materialist philosophers that lay out their arguments without a political slant to it

im not here to deal with dishonest biased arguing solely to uphold your ideology, i told you previously I give two s***s about politics

now unless we can discuss materialism v idealism without you having the good ol’ communism dog on your lap to encourage you to not see anything from an idealistic perspective, we can simply just leave it here dude

a literal cursory Google that you literally went over to fetch that image says “does not claim belief or disbelief in God”

it is taking a position on literally neither

i mean you just saying "no u" but i just read the first line on wikipedia and google definitions saynig "a person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God or of anything beyond material phenomena"

but google also says "a person who claims neither faith nor disbelief in God" so maybe in the word's actual practiced use it can mean both things which just makes everything confusing and lame semantics lol whatever, i guess its just something you have to specify when trying to talk about thsi stuff

Again you are conflating metaphysical materialism with historical and dialectical materialism, they are not all the same and you sound like a dumbass when you're making critiques against the latter when they only apply to metaphysical materialism. Dialectical and historical materialism does not make any physicalist claims

You don't have to care about politics, but if you're gonna be mister materialism deconstructer maybe statt with how different types of materialism are different and an argument against one type doesn't hold up against all

i said it was semantics which is why i casted it aside in the first place, it’s sophistry and is just obfuscating discussion lol

i don’t even see what the point would necessarily be to be an agnostic theist and say “well if god exists, it has to be unknowable”

That's what I been trying to say there may not even be any discrepancy. Dialectical and historical materialism =\= physicalism, so maybe you would agree with dialectical and historical materialism, but there's no way to know that if you have this visceral aversion towards anything materialist because you think all types of materialism necessarily make metaphysical claims.

Science is observation, it has no responsibility to explain everything. Name one example of spiritualism explaining an occurence.
