The Scream has a few gems but it really doesn't show off what the band are capable off.

Start with Juju which is easily their best.

Then Tinderbox; dark yet extremely melodic.. First track is easily one of the best songs. Gothic rock perfection.

A Kiss in a Dreamhouse is their most experimental with the addition of Neo-psych production. Its like the best parts of Juju & Kaleidoscope (great album too) in one album.

I'd also rec Hyaena, this was during the time when Robert from The Cure was hands on with a lot of the tracks which is why this album sounds like nothing they've done before.

The Scream is great tbh, they just have like 5 albums which are better.

They really are the goat band.

The Smiths too, I'd give their discog a listen after.

The Cure also, top 3 bands.

might wanna check out iggy's the idiot, not sure if it's post-punk by the book but it's worth a listen cause you can definitely see the influence it had in other groups' works during post punk

Public Image is one of my favs. The lead singer is Johnny Rotton of the s***pistols and its so much better than that.
