this is more just a thought experiment, it's not how AI actually is, but imagine a magic button that just instantly makes the perfect song for you to listen to at that very moment. is that something we should really strive towards as a society in the way we treat art? I think it detracts a lot of the reasons that actually give music so much meaning to so many people. Don't we want actual personality, emotions, human imperfections etc. in the art we experience? Even if we might be able to experience an imitation that can trick our brain into having a real reaction? Not to mention the value of the actual artist expressing themselves without consideration of any audience.

this is a new era that brings out a lot of questions we've never had to reckon with before, so to an extent i don't think you can blame people that much for wanting to explore possible benefits technology, be open minded, and also just be confused/uncertain about all this. But I think it's really worth thinking about why music is important to you in ways

I admit I made a lil jokey joke, but the sentiments you’re getting should be what’s expected.

A music forum will mostly not f*** with AI, because hardcore music fans will know better than anyone else that musics brilliance is tied mostly to the fact that it was created by humans. We literally harnessed the wind. When I listen to something incredible, my first thoughts are “wow, a regular human being just like me made something that is currently giving me goosebumps”, it inspires and motivates you and makes you proud to be human, and it’s something that humanity shares across all cultures.

I’m speaking to the scenario of AI music that’s almost completely artificially generated. The examples we have of The Weeknd, Kanye, and Carti are arguably less lame, but even then it’s just deceptive as hell
