i loved Mac but Circles was boring imo. too much singing
This. Not to mention his singing is extremely poor. He doesn’t have the voice for it nor does he compensate for that like Tyler does.

I just played Swimming and Circles back to back while I was work and man... s*** had me feeling all types of s***.
2009 is by far my favourite song out of both those projects I think. I really want to get a tattoo for Mac incorporating 2009.

It’s more so the emotion that his vocals evoke, artists like Nico, Bob, Lou aren’t the best singers but the way they delivery these songs are so meaningful.
Kinda feel the same with Mac, I really feel everything he sings.

Not a fan of Bob Dylan either. I understand the appeal, but for every eh singer with a good pen that evokes emotional vocals, there’s a better vocalist with a good pen who evokes emotional vocals. It’s to each their own though. Circles just didn’t land for me.
Mar 9, 2020·1 replypneu· editedI'll admit, I've never been a huge fan of Mac. Always knew he was a very capable artist but I always felt like he wasn't able to really construct a cohesive album. It was either slightly unfocused (The Divine Feminine) or wasted potential but still great (Watching Movies With the Sound Off).
With Circles, he really showed his true potential. When he's not rapping, he has the perfect voice for this somewhat lonely and helpless type of delivery that works so well for this album. You feel every single line he sings and you can tell he truly means it.
Good News for example is brilliant, hands down the best song he's ever made.

Still really refreshing to hear what Mac was still striving for and hoping to achieve before his unexpected death. He had a long career ahead of him still.

You could get a simple "2009" stylized with the colors/font of his KIDS mixtape?
A step further by having that cut out paper logo thing around the word KIDS, around the "2009" ? 
(kids dropped in 2010 i know) but the song 2009 is him brooding over the simpler times that were before his "break" KIDS
