i really want to get back to you on this because i have a lot to say but i’m on my phone in bed. their sound/aesthetic changes so often and differs between artists so it’s almost impossible to define without writing loads lol

Chloe HotleezyOnly 2 drain gang members are white first off. The other drain members are drifting into more experimental pop territory. (ESPECIALLY ECCO2K) It's like a euphoric feeling. It sounds like you're on a cloud or in heaven. The reverb and EDM inspired beats is what really gets me. A lot of the early stuff (pre-2017) is trash as f***. early Bladee is barely music lol. Listen to E by Ecco2k and some songs from Icedancer. You'll get it

what made them stand out originally, whether you got it or not (most people didn’t cough fantano) was that their sound/aesthetic was completely globalised, not tied to any region or genre, they were weird swedish teens with eclectic tastes making music on their laptops, taking equal inspiration from trap and post-internet artists like james ferraro.

Bruh James Ferraro being post-internet is a joke. Second, idk how its globalized it seems very niche, but is marred in cloud-rap and anime s***. Idk how ecletic it really is. Cause I don't hear these guys making rock or metal music. But saying that I kind of get it now, and your explanation is decent

i wasn’t sure whether to use post-internet to define ferraro but the stuff they take inspiration from (bodyguard, bebetunes) is decidedly “post-internet” imo

Honestly I just love how versatile they sound, the lyrics might not be the best, but from Bladee deep sounding voice on Best Buy to the high pitched voice on girls want to have fun. Just ton of range that I just happen to like, the production in my opinion is unique and interesting CC by Ecco2k gotta be one of my favourite and I’ve been listening to Yung lean since 2014 and always loved him, and I can relate to all their lyrics. Only person I can’t really comment on is Thaiboy I enjoy him just don’t listen as often
