Excluding mom and pop shops and places in the deep redneck country, your race is less of a factor in hiring more than ever.
I’ve said this multiple times on here, I worked at one of the top banks in the country and I had multiple different bosses from of all races - black man, black woman, white woman, and Vice President of a region who was a Mexican immigrant AND gay to boot.
I had one white male boss and he was just middle management.
I have experience with law school admissions and they value what they call URMs (under represented minorities) over white applicants with the same stats (GPA, LSAT).
Jobs will literally hire non whites just to prove they are diverse. And I’m not complaining about that at all, I’m just stating, in the real corporate job market, it’s not racist like people Think.
College kids tend to think like this because they haven’t been in the corporate world, and only go off what they hear on social media or some s***.
It’s funny how when I tell people this on here, they stop responded or just completely go off topic because they can’t believe that what they think is actually false.
And we wouldn't have made any of that progress without "complaining and playing the victim card" like we are still being told to this day... The corporate world begging for diversity is just them adjusting to a consistently evolving social hemisphere. If the consensus was still "fuck jiggers", would the same corporate entity you speak so highly off, risk their money and appeal to the majority because they actually care about minorities? Anomalies aside and taking history into consideration, they largely would not. Ofc we will take it for what it is, but please don't make it seem like we should be grateful for a disingenuous reaction to a destructive past
We gonna keep fighting and frying these ignorant caucazoids because while it has progressed massively, there's plenty of work to be done and awareness to be raised. Also caucasians just got better at hiding their destructive sentiments because it might actually result in... repercussions! A concept a lot of them are not very familiar with in regards to racial prejudice. This is best exposed when you question one about said topics. I work in a very high end, 96% caucasian retail company and while diversity is a selling point, I have to suppress a lot of my innocent negro tendencies and white wash my expression because of a combination of the vast cultural differences and not coming across as "that type of black" but I guess I should be thankful for the breadcrumbs!!!
