yeah Neon Genesis Evangelion is a classic anime with deep philosophical and spiritual inspirations, it basically revolves around how God is sending Angels to Earth to destroy it and the humans are defending themselves with giant 'robots'.

It's a very strong one so if you think about watching it I'd recommend to start from the beginning by now (they're like 26 episodes, or you can watch Neon Genesis Evangelion Rebirth which is like a summary movie of the entire 26 episodes)
