YANDHIPeople have mistook these for the same thing for years because both deal with local files. One is a cloud and the other is pretty much downloading locals files to the Spotify app only on that device.
Once you place a song on the music app on your computer it automatically is now streamable on any device you have whether its ipad, iphone, AM on android, etc... it doesn't take up space
For Spotify you have to download it to the Spotify app and it takes up storage on your device you downloaded it to. They've had this feature before AM even existed but they have yet to create a similar cloud service. Only company who had something comparable was Google Music (idk if this continued with Youtube Music)
yeah, definitely a shortcoming that i wonder why they didn't solve yet

i have $1000+ headphone/dac setup too
i’ve never done a double blind test or anything, but when i’ve tested between lossless and hi-res lossless and i can’t tell much of a difference, but i can tell a difference between MP3 and lossless. maybe it is a bit of a placebo, but i remember I’ve had experiences in the past where i’ve been like “this sounds off” and i check my settings and it’s set to a lower quality then i usually listen to.

1) their UI is superior to both AM and Spotify
2) the way they handle credits is amazing
3) best platform for rap fans
4) their version of "lossless" is actual lossless (vs whatever AM is putting out) - meaning if you have good headphones, they have the best quality of any platform
5) highest payouts to artists vs spotify/amcons
1) zero social features (no collab playlists, etc.)
2) no local or cloud support (cant put your own music on there)
3) most expensive once you get past the trials
4) desktop app has some glitches
5) nobody uses it so its harder to share links
