Bro I'll keep saying it because at the end of the day I'm right. Memeheads need to f*** off. It's almost as bad as those old people complaining about "real rap" at this point.

Nah he's right, we aren't progressing by nominating garbage music. The only reason this s*** got nominated is because of the artists "brand" it's just advocating for the LGBT or the fat community. It's got nothing to do with the music at this point.

That being said I'd have to go with Lizzo over LNX because she can at least rap.

When did I say anything about "real rap"..?

Don't get ahead of yourself.. social media is the reason for all this trash getting popular.. they don't even care about the how good the music is.. they just want stupid entertainment, and the fact that both artists are pushing a narrative behind their image of course social justice s*** is gonna back them up.

I don't care about any of that image s***. I just care about good music at the end of the day and the fact that one of them is a legit children's artist is pathetic..

Why would you ever expect/want progress from the Grammys?

It’s like being mad at Entertainment Weekly for not doing serious journalism- it’s a very flashy ad delivery system masquerading as a magazine, just like how the Grammys is a very flashy ad delivery system dressed up as an awards show.

Are you shocked/mad that labels and artists f***, bribe and lobby their way into the winners circle, and always have been, since the advent of these award ceremonies?

Does anyone really think 6 years ago the grammys cared about artistic integrity and now they don’t?

his point stands. rap was at another f***ing level in 2013. even seemingly mid years like 2014 or 2015 were far better. the current modern rap sound peaked in 2012-2015 imo. there hasn't been anything new since that era. we're like mid 00s now, waiting for the next 808 & heartbreak to happen

who’s point stands? I’m responding to DavidP.

Seems like you’re living nostalgically, I just disagree. 2013 wasn’t any more or less special to me than 2012, 2014, 2015, whatever. Music as a whole definitely wasn’t “better” that year. There’s been an incredibly amount of boundary pushing art that’s come out in the last two years alone wrt rap, so I don’t think anyone’s waiting for a new 808s to drop unless you only listen to a handful of musicians
