Finna be copping my first car this year, gon pay in full so I don’t gotta deal wit a car note.
Looking between a Chrysler 300 and a Camaro. Can get both for around the same price.
What would yall recommend between the 2 and would say is more reliable and sturdy?
Don’t troll and try to sway me elsewhere. It’s between these 2 period.
I know a lot about cars My whole family worked for gerald ford on the factory line including me! So any questions ya got im sure i can answer em
Why are you debating between those 2 though? Can we get an explanation or tell us what you're looking for. As an Audi man I really don't get it. Lexus and Volvo have good options too.

I jus primarily want to know between the 2 which would be more sturdy in terms of less overall general problems, less repairs, etc. I know all cars eventually have problems but which brand between Chevy and Chrysler is considered more reliable and less “delicate”.
As I said this will be my first car so I can’t speak from prior experience.

Because the budget isn’t endless lmao. If that was the case I would be going more that route, an Audi, Lexus, Beamer, etc.
But even tho I’ll be paying in full I’m looking at a $10K-$15K range and will be going used, and as a first car, I want to both avoid driving a beater and get me something decent, and something that I also physically like. And so wit the options available in this range, I’ve narrowed it down to these 2.

my father is a fair bit into cars (i am too, but with a way less good sense of reliability and s*** like that i mostly just care for basic function and looks and also speaker system) and he's lived with chryslers all his life and def recommended a 300 to me when i was 16 getting my car (didn't get but that's cus i like the looks of other cars more)
so there's all i can offer from that point
other points to consider: the camaro may raise your insurance since it's considered a sportscar or ponycar or smthn like that
(parts? may be more expensive for camaro too cus of similar reasoning)
i think ppl will view you more boyish (in a good way) with a camaro, more serious with a chrysler 300, so that too is something to think bout if u gaf

As far as your point on insurance, isn’t the 300 treated the same in the eyes of insurance companies and gets charged as a sports/muscle car? If not then the cheaper insurance is definitely a huge pro for the 300 as of right now.
I’ve owned both cars a 2013 camaro and a 2017 300
Lmk which year and which model
I’m not quite ready to purchase yet but as of the listings today there was a 2011 blacked out Camaro, and most of the 300s I’ve seen in the same price range have been 2010-2012. I’ve also seen a 2013. So let’s say 2010-2013 in general.

Yea camaro easy those older 300s have hella problems
Yea camaro easy those older 300s have hella problems
Since you’ve owned both, how big was the difference as far as insurance?
Windshield small as s*** and a lot of blind spots
Drive safe af for the first couple months
Why are your two options a Chrysler 300 and a Camaro?
First off, on the topic of insurance: insurance is a s*** load for someone who just got their first car and it's a Camaro (granted you're young). It's cool to say "nah i can pay it" but it's annoying as f*** when that insurance bill comes around and you have to pay for it.
Second, one thing that NOBODY seems to care about until they realize the importance, is MPG. If you're a very aggressive driver like I am, you're not going to be getting the MPG that it says on google. Especially if you stick to a lot of city and don't have a mix of highways.
I get 14 MPG. Google says I should get 19. That gas adds up, trust me. On top of insurance? Annoying, but that's my fault.
And then.. why don't you want to be swayed to any other cars? Do you specifically only want something American? Are you turned off by Japanese cars because you imagine Civics? Are you turned off by German cars because you heard of their reliability?

Can’t say tbh cuz I totaled the camaro and the car after and my insurance was stupid high for the 300
But coupe the insurance gonna be a lil higher but honestly it’ll prob be a small difference just shop around

A $10-15K budget can get you hella far for your first car. You can get an Audi, Lexus or Beamer for that price range that isn't a beater and is reliable. You just have to make sure it has maintenance records, is a reliable model/year, and is in good condition.
You'd be surprised the amount of cars you can find for under $10K.
I think you should honestly TELL people itt to try and sway you to other cars. Lots of great cars out there I never considered until it was time to buy my car.
Also yea I agree with that other guy but didn’t say anything cuz you asked about these two
If you’re worried about insurance repairs will cost a lot more
Highly suggest looking at Honda’s Toyota’s and nissans
You can still find some nice looking cars at that range like maybe a Scion FR-S? Accord Coupe? 350z even?
You should get a Subaru or a pickup truck. If I had the choice like you do with your first car, I woulda got something that’s gonna last coz trust me car troubles come outta nowhere and they will DRAIN you. Subaru or a good pick up will have you riding comfy for the next decade and a half at least.
Kawhi Leonard drives a pickup truck. Be humble

Who told you that? These cars are atrocious with upkeep. Get a Japanese made car my dude. Toyota 2011 Camry for the win.

I thought you were talking brand new lol. Because for that kind of budget you could've gotten a slightly used but much better car. But honestly I wouldn't buy either of those 2 used. Just get a civic or elantra or something like that. Save up and get a much better car in a couple years.
I'ma disagree with the two people above me.
(Coffee Nerd posted right before me, so above him)
Don't get a pickup truck if you don't need it. That MPG gonna drain you too. Plus, them s***s big and it'll throw off a new driver because of the dimensions of the truck.
Nothing wrong with a Camry, but if you're looking at a Camaro, you want a car that's gonna excite you. Here's the thing about Toyotas' and Hondas (at least the Camry and Civic base models): people only get rid of them because they get bored of them.
