I have a teaching credential and MA in English, been applying aggressively for a teaching job and getting about a 10-20% response rate. That's really good, but it's a tough time for the field. A lot of uncertainty. Had an interview today and I interview for LAUSD eligibility on Thursday.

In my spare time, I also write books I'm developing an animated franchise with a graphic novel as a platform-builder that I'm making a pitch package for. Coming along really nice. If it hits, I want to turn it into a full series.

3-5 years from now, I'd like to be settled in at a district high school pulling in 75k with full benefits while I'm getting the finishing touches on a publishing contract and pondering whether to take the leap.

Why dont you want to go to university? For knowing what you want to do in life, I can only give one advice, which is to to try. Try whatever interests you, and know that you can always change your mind. It took me a lot of bouncing around to finially find what I like.

I like politics, so am looking into political science. Really tho, all that matters is you have some job history and a piece of paper saying you worked on getting an education for four years.

A resume and degree get you far

You gotta be more spec when you mean IT, does this mean that you want to be a developer? How I view it, regardless whether its IT or not, is that experience>Degree> Cert. Education matter less and less as more job you get, which make intuitive sense right, if you are 40 yrs old they dont really care which uni you came out of when you were 22. Obviosuly theirs presitenge if you go to an ivy leauge, but for most i dont think it matters much. I personally think that the first step is really important, imagine you start at the very bottom, itll take longer than 4 years to reach a position of where you would have started if you got a good bachelor. As for certifications, I think they are just the icing on the cake to show, that you are a go getter and willing to go the extra mile, it shows that you are willing to learn on your own. And as for masters and PHD, I think for the job that you want there is different requirements, for example if you want to be a CEO its like a reqirement that you get an MBA, if you want to be up there in fininace you gotta have a CFA (not a master degree but you get the point)... Basically what im saying is that sometime to move up in the corporate world you need to get certain degrees. PHD is relatively the same thing but to a more extreme level.

To give you an idea of what I had to go through, I first thought I wanted to to hospitality then I interned at a bakery and realized I didn't like to work when people are off work. Then I was interested in fashion industry but after interning at Bally I realized what Im leanring (statistics) cant really bring a lot of value to it. Then one day I saw Tesla's shareholder meeting where Elon Musk said he was going to introduce robotaxis into Tesla, I was like that genius I gotta invest lol. So that led me down a rabbit hole of investing, and now I know I want to work in the world of finance. And Im typing this rn at my silicon valley bank internship haha.

Honestly i wished i never went to a 4 year college straight outta high school.

I had zero clue about what i was doing in life and didnt really find my calling until my third year in college.

Kinda wished i did CC instead and just took classes that interested me instead to discover my passions.

Although one thing i did enjoy was dorming.

why not continue down the fashion route? How I see fashion is that there is the art side (fashion design) and the science side (business side) which both are equally important. I can kinda see how you are stuck in the middle cause on one hand you got the art degree which would align more with the art side, but at the same time you have a fashion business degree which is more of the science side. If I were you I would have to decide first which side you want to be on. businessoffashion.com/education heres some online certificate that you could take, if any of those interests you. Personally I wanted to do merchandising, because at the same time there was the a***ytics of the numbers to see which color/model/style you should get and also the quantity, but also the fact you could travel to the fashion runways and go to the showroom and actually pick out what you wanna buy.
